A modern, chirpy-looking take on classic park simulation/management games. The cute dinosaurs can get rather grumpy and so don't let your guests get chomped.

A surprisingly deep and complex alternate Cold War timeline that gives the player a flexible approach to global espionage. I would highly recommend blasting through the 'easy' initial run-through trying everything out; making mistakes to see what works and what doesn't. Then knuckle down and immerse yourself in the world/atmosphere it creates for the 'ironman' mode run-through. Fans of XCom, Commandos, Invisible Inc. and turn-based, stealth-strategy games will enjoy.

A delight. Micro-strategy; resource management and beautiful poly-trains. Perfect for both those who want to have an ambient time and make some railways and for the more hardcore trying to 100% the game. Don't underestimate how hard getting all the awards/achievements is.

Mini Metro is the first game I bought on Steam and though I haven't played it on Steam in a few months (I have it on my phone now) it still (just) tops my playtime list. It's remarkably challenging despite the simplicity and an aesthetic triumph. Within 2 minutes of downloading you'll be playing the full game, minimal explanation required. That is what led me to grind the hours initially and keeps me coming back for sporadic periods of play.

There's a beauty in creating your own unique Henry Beck-esque tube map every time you load and reload a level. You will learn to live in that uncomfortable zone between control and panic as new stations pop up and more commuting shapes appear. The game is well balanced. The difficulty from the first level to the last increases linearly as each city provides slightly different geographical and geometric challenges. The difficulty in each level grows as well as commuter demand increases.

If you are a strategy or train fan then you will enjoy this elegant game that can either be played as a nice down-time pleaser or an intense grind. You will also discover a previously dormant hatred of circles.
