I played the first beta and was like "wow, this game is really good". I played with some friends and had a blast, it had A LOT of bugs, but It was a beta after all. The second beta was more like "ok, the operator I was using the most is not on this beta anymore, so let's try the new ones". Bugs were still plenty. And the "wow" factor started to vanish mostly because matchmaking was a pain (and still is). Some friends bought it at launch, but I didn't because I wasn't that interested anymore. After the first sale, my friends insisted that much I bought it. I can't deny I had good times playing it, I suck, but it was fun anyway.

After some more days playing it, the fun factor started to get down. Let me clarify one thing... I read about the community being good, but sadly that wasn't my experience. 90% of the time, the community was rude, at least in my region, and as time passes, it just get worse. Some examples includes people yelling and insulting (in a really bad way) other players from the same team. People killing the entire team at the beginning of the round just for the sake of it. Etc. Maybe It was bad luck and almost all my matchmaking went wrong. Maybe. I don't know. I don't care anymore

And the bugs. There are still a lot of bugs. They patch some and bring some more. But I must give a plus because the feedback. One can say devs are worried about the game, so it may improve technically. But I can't think that good about Ubisoft. Hope they let devs continue developing the game some more time.

So, why I still recommend it? Because the game is not bad at all. Despite its flaws, It IS a good game, tactics are great, graphics are good, the whole operators thing is amazing... I just got tired of the community. I hate playing this game because of it. I don't like coming from a hard day at work just to get insulted on a game by unknown people. I know... why do I care?. I won't if it were some sporadic times... but almost everytime? No, thanks.

+ graphics
+ gameplay
+ great coop with friends
+ dev support

- community (my experience)
- price ($60 is too much for this game)
- bugs
- matchmaking

This game starts as a parody... a journey through some rpg story. Or maybe I must say Final Fantasy, Zelda and Diablo story. You keep finding chests to unveil some new graphic mode or mechanism. It is fun through the first hour.

The minute you reach "the town", the whole game begins to fall apart. That town, OMG that town. NPCs make yo go through screens over and over again. Then the Diablo-like dungeon... it was somewhat fun, but not that much. Then that forest where you need to torch some bushes over and over and over again touching crystals going from present to past... over and over and over again!

I really tried to like this game. But it is an exercise on patience against boredom. Some people say it is a short game. I think it should've been even shorter.

The premise is good, really, I liked the intro video and what it could be...

But the game is bad. really really bad. Physics are horrendous, inventory system is clunky (Inventory, select key, use key... to unlock a door! really?) and TON of glitches (tried to grab a medikit... "the door is blocked"... the game thought the medikit was a door!!).

Is a real shame, because music is good and background sounds too. Graphics are bad. I know it is a HL mod... but, seriously, no animation? BTW, your biggest enemies are the loading screens. It seems the game is just an introduction to loading screens. I'd better watch paint dry than try this game again because those huge loading times.

I know it is a free game... but... it is really bad. Developers need to fix all the glitches to begin with, and then improve some animations and... loading screens.

This game is GREAT!

The background, plot and gameplay are just amazing. I just love the black & white (& red) palette, but you can adjust it to get a colorful world if you want to. Sounds are awesome too, the wind, screams, weep... and you really need to listen very carefully if you want to keep alive and advancing, finding clues and unlocking the plot. About the gameplay, it has has a lot of stealth. You can't just run because enemies will crush you.

This is not a game for everyone... Is very dark, complex and confusing. You need to understand and follow clues to keep advancing. Sometimes you will walk in circles serching for items, notes... clues, but this game has "something" that makes running in circles a very comfortable and entertaining job.

This game, as other said, is like pong with acid and rhythm. But there's one problem: the background. That's your main enemy. Sometimes it is even impossible to see the objects you're trying to hit!

I played A LOT of point and click adventures back in their glory days and even play some now and then. This game is bad. I know is free, but it is really bad.

I can't stand the voice acting, is so terrible I had to mute to keep playing.

The game is too slow one can get bored after the first couple of minutes, and the gameplay, inventory handling and plot didn't help at all. The game is short, but I'm glad it is, really.

I think the developer should remove the voices, really, just remove it. They should also use a "run" feature to help speed the gameplay a bit and improve the gameplay mechanics.

I can't recommend this game, but maybe will play episode 2 if they improve it.

One word can define this game: Beautiful. Graphics (made a lot of screenshots), music, history, gameplay... everything is beatiful. I had a great time with this game and I think I will always remember it.

Is not a long game, you can beat it around 2.5hs... but believe me, every minute counts, every single minute. The gameplay... really original. Controlling both characters with the same gamepad is amazing, sometimes a bit confusing and difficult, but amazing.

I believe everybody should play this game, is a masterpiece.

I've played the series since they first appeared and I'm an X-Com fan, you may take my recommendation with a grain of salt :)

The first one (UFO Defense) was a blast. It is one of my most treasured games of all time. It involved a LOT of micromanagement, from the "which kind of ammo" for certain weapons (explosive, incendiary, armor piercing...) to buy (yes, you need to actually buy ammo), to the soldiers selection based on the stats (recruitment involved). You even have to hire scientists, engineers and so on. And then you have the "proper" game, the action. OMG, it was difficult, but really addictive.

XCOM EU is a different game, not just the same one with better graphics, easier interface and "dumbed down" micromanagement. No. A different animal. A beautiful and different animal. Is more focused on the action (TBS)... and its really well executed.

I like to play it on a slow pace, enjoying every bit of it. Right now, I'm around 30 hours, and maybe 50% complete... and I'm not tired of it AT ALL... can't stop playing it. You have to understand that 30 hours is a lot to me, because I can only play about an hour per day (if I'm lucky)... and add my backlog to that... 30 hours is really good, I really have to love the game to reach that.

If you liked the original X-Com, trust me, you'll love this one. Maybe you'll miss some aspects, but you'll like all the new perspective. If you don't know the originals, don't worry, you'll love this one even more

Firaxis did it once again. Bravo!

I don't know what's in the developer's head to create such a game...

Brilliant.

You can't understand this game until played it. Videos can't help... really. After 5 minutes playing it, you'll know that you're playing something different, special... and addictive. You'll die a thousand times, but you'll come for more... angry... but with a smile on your face.

Just try it

Eye of the Beholder... Dungeon Master... Lands of Lore... Ultima Underworld...

Grimrock evoca tantas memorias.
