Disappointing.

Years later and the game is still horribly unstable. Classic Bethesda. So good and yet so bad.

Mandatory spyware anticheat? Thought we got rid of that in the 90s. G'way.

I'd love to recommend this game, I really would - but two things sour it for me.

Firstly it feels like adware. Launcher? Ad. Load the game? Ad. Close the game? Ad. Do it once, not thrice. You're trying to be a triple A not Candy Crush.

Secondly, more minor, is the improper capture of inputs. If Im zooming in and out I really do not want my second monitor flying up and down. Amateur mistake, should have been fixed now years later.

Keen have just done an EA to this and turned it into a cash cow fragmenting the playerbase. Very very poor form and now one cannot recommend this title.

Ultimately there was potential for this to be a decent amateur friendly RTS but they butchered it to make it console compatible. FOV is miniscule, even COH you can see more. Controls suck.

They got the feel of a Halo game with Warthogs but otherwise fail. A bit like Tom Clancys Endwar. Sad.

I'm an FS fan but this is pre-beta or beta software. Should not be released without an early access tag. Expected better Mode7.

I'd love to be able to recommend it, really would, but thats not possible when its such a horrible mess. Unity isn't some newfangled wizardry and Harebrained have been developing with it since 2013 and yet a game long past its release is still a mess. Game slows during extende play requiring reboots. As your number of save files (inc autos) increase it grinds to a hault. Collect up loot in your inventory? Good luck. Change tab on the planetery store (a basic 2d menu) and the game can freeze for up to 50 seconds. Loading times in minutes on an NVME SSD. Completely single threaded. Other bugs such as sloppy audio routing.

These issues aren't unique to me, have a look at a few pages of the steam discussions.

Otherwise this is a true to canon Mech game which while a bit repetitive is well conceived and relatively balanced.

Meh, very meh.
