A short, chill experience with a nice story. A walking simulator that makes you work for it a bit. Definitely recommend if you're into that!

It's a chill little ocean adventure! Definitely recommend you give it a go! Though, maybe on sale, as it's only 1-2 hours long if you reaaaaally wanna find all the stuffs.

Despite the flack it's getting, it's a genuinely good game. There's plenty wrong with, besides the bugs though. Doesn't feel like there's as much choice as advertised, the beginning life paths seem to have very little effect on things overall, and depending on how you play the game the end can be very slow and tedious if you intend to do everything before finishing things.

It's like a solid 8/10 or something, but definitely not the best game ever made.

If you want chill, cyberpunk-y vibes while mixing drinks for customers, then this is your game. Plays like a visual novel but with some drink mixing to break up the reading. Big ups from me!

I get and completely understand all the flack this game got when it first came out. It was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and that sucks for the players that experienced it then.

That said, the game has vastly improved, based on the four hours I've played of it. It's 100% a Fallout game, and everything you would expect to come with it at this point. Combat feels good, roleplaying aspects feel good, the building is good (especially since you're basically making your own little player home now instead of building whole towns and stuff).

My only gripe are the griefers in the game, and VATS.
Griefers are always a problem, but the system this game has in place where you only take damagae from other players when you fight back works well. And honestly, it feels really good to completely deny them what they want in the first place by acting like they're not even there. At that point, they're just wasting ammo.
VATS isn't bad per se, it's just weird. It basically acts as a percent chance auto-lock in real time. And it's only weird because time doesn't pause, which is kinda just what happens when there are other plays in your game and you simply cannot pause time.

Beyond the small things, it feels like a good game. If you want more Fallout, and have played 4 to death, 76 is a good bet.

For a game that used to be the butt of every joke, things are pretty good these days in No Man's Sky.

If you want a chill atmosphere while exploring space, then 100% give it a shot!

Unfortunately, because of the way this game is going, it just isn't for me anymore. Now that the story happens over each season, rather than per expansion, I just can't really keep up with it. It's not worth the time investment for me when I still have so much other stuff to play. You're totally valid if you play the game, or want to try it out, but...it just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

The game is great, ultimately. Plays like God of War and Legend of Zelda had a baby, so if you're into that, pick it up.

That said, it has some things about it that have not aged well, or are kinda buggy. Biggest thing is that the platforming system, particularly will climbing walls, is not very responsive sometimes. Lotsa annoying deaths could be avoided if that were better.
Other big annoyance is that I can't access other programs without the game minimizing itself. And sometimes closing out by itself entirely.
It can run in 2k, but not without completely screwing with your native resolution.

But, the gameplay is satisfying, the world and story are interesting, and the rest of the game is just pure fun. So, I can forgive the minor annoyances.

Early Access Review
Right now, even in early access this game is really great. There's a fair bit of difficulty initially, but as with all roguelites that pain lessens the more you play.

I can see in the future there maybe not being enough content, but if they're adding more then there won't be a problem.

Looks, feels, and tastes like Torchlight!

Played with the Railmaster for a couple hours. So far, so good! Feel like there could be more depth to the character builds, and more clarity about armor and weapon stats, but it feels like a Torchlight game.

Looking forward to see what happens with continued development!
