By making this game free, the developers have turned us all into thieves...
We've stolen fine art of the highest order that by rights we should've paid good money for...

good
- Lacie
- Music is exquisite
- Lovely environments
- Moth people (based)

bad
- cannot go to cool city
- not enough moths
- not enough Lacie
- I cannot hug Lacie
- no one hugs Lacie (why????)

6/10 game; would be 10/10 but 4 points deducted for being mean and not giving Lacie a hug

coherent thoughts, probably
Honest to God the first thing that caught my eye about this game (after how cute Lacie is, of course) was the double 99% review score with so many reviews on a free game. I've only ever seen scores like that on similar RPG/visual novel things with price tags in the $20-40 range.
I fell in love with the lakeside BGM the instant I heard it. All the music is utterly breathtaking, but a few particular tracks I could genuinely listen to for eternity.

I have only two actual complaints, and they honestly don't hurt the overall experience enough to make me enjoy it any less.
The main thing is that, while I know this is only the first chapter of a larger story, since it's being developed and released in this format (actual spoiler do not read unless you finished the game) I think it would've been nicer if this part of the story had more of a resolution. Upon reaching the ending it didn't feel as though anything had really changed; obviously as only one chapter of the story it wouldn't be anything too grand, but it would've been nice to see Lacie going home having made some more concrete progress in some direction.
The other thing is that it's an absolute tragedy that dialogue of Lacie empathizing with Miss Knives was removed after the demo version, or so I heard. I can't imagine why such a thing would've been removed; it only serves to make Lacie more endearing. To me at least, the similarity of her and Knives' past lives was readily apparent, and Lacie still has plenty of capacity for feelings so I think it's only natural she'd pick up on it.

All in all, this is the most willing I've been to give a developer money since buying Starsector a few years ago.

postscript
I love Lacie
I did my part, purchasing the soundtrack and supporter pack
if you love Lacie, you are obligated to do so as well

Cool game until Sony did a Sony. It may not seem like that big a deal to make one more account on top of 200 or so, but between Sony's complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cybersecurity, asking for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ government ID, and locking at least half the planet out of the game after the people in those areas already paid for it?

Lmao!

EDIT: Snoy has been obliterated, the above section no longer applies but I'm leaving it here for the record

EDIT 2: Snoy retarded purchase restriction is still there, gotta conduct another bombing raid I guess
Here I thought companies were run by adults

Game is fun, developers actually fix dumb bugs and crashes, audio is great
Still a couple questionable balancing choices here and there tho

Very nice little game, pretty smooth for being a pixel graphic game.
I'd pay for a sequel/DLC containing more levels honestly. It's a great short little game, but it's just so short.

Y'all best get to work on some more levels lol

9/10
-1 because it's so unbelievably short

Great concept, good execution. I recognize that it's still in early development so everything I'm going to mention is kinda to be expected, but...
I think the model quality could be improved a decent amount.
Alongside performance improvements in general (I get less frames in this than War Thunder on custom settings with everything turned up as far as it'll go), animations/particle effects for destroying buildings and other vehicles could probably be improved.
Maybe streamline the main menu UI a bit?
Possibly rework rate of fire across the board...it's kinda ridiculous in some vehicles.

Otherwise I love the game. 8/10
