I played TTD,Railroad Tycoon 2,3,Chris sawyer's one, and many other rail-management titles. And this one definitely the best in its league!
Worth a buy, definitely the closest one to fulfill your wish for creating model railway without leaving a black hole in your wallet.
Thank all to the modders who enable a heck of great content available!

Note to dev:
- Really wish you can fix the performance issue. I enjoyed playing in megalomaniac, and the late-game lag is nightmare even in a decent spec pc (i7+2070)
- Please add more options to the map generator, especially to make a different nature of an area in the map, so it's possible for a map to have snowy mountains at one side, and green plains at the others
- Hope someday you guys consider to extend more train-related realism mechanism. E.g. Loco and trainset switching/coupling/decoupling (Especially at station to reverse the direction, not just auto reversed), Train maintenance on yard ; These will make the game open to more possibilities to explore (E.g. helper loco at certain track segment only)
