I have played this game on and off since Perandus, and each league extensively since Betrayal. Almost all my hours are logged on the standalone client.
I do not recommend anyone play this game. Go play Last Epoch or D4 when it comes out. Not even Blizzard can be worse than what GGG is currently right now.

1. Every single league since the start of 2020 has been worse than the last, not counting the maven expansion that they had an extra month to work on cause "muh cyberpunk launch". Issued an apology during Heist league where they basically blamed covid.
2. Deleting/withholding QoL from the game for no reason- "Why yes you have to spend 20 minutes after every map picking up 500 individual piece of currency, how else would you fEeL tHe WeIgHT???" And btw this is not even scratching the surface.
3. Labels game mechanics as "exploitative" only when it benefits PR in some way (remember blueprint duping?)
4. Lies to the playerbase by disguising unfinished content as bugs.
5. Actual bugs go unpatched for years unless it gets 500 upvotes on Reddit.
6. Servers took a massive dump in past year- League launches riddled with crashes. Finally came back to bite them when the servers straight up broke on Ultimatum launch day.
7. Nerfed almost all content in the game this league, just so they could reset the powercreep for PoE2. Their response to the criticisms from unhappy Redditors? Have a massive launch-day ad campaign on Twitch because new players are not affected by nerfs.

I never played back when GGG was a small indie company as the meme goes, but right now everything they have done in the past few leagues have been nothing but downward trends.
