This game is so unbelievably well written it should really be considered as high fiction. No it does not have riveting gameplay or an unbelievably well defined crafting system, but it doesn't need to, it isn't the point. Going into DE you should have in mind this game is a big read, the text is very expansive and most of the game is sitting and reading dialogue, but that's the great part, because Disco Elysium is FANTASTICALLY WRITTEN. Every line of dialogue is immersive a perfect fit into the melancholy world studio ZA/UM tried to (and succeeded to) set up. The quips are genuinely witty and the serious dramatic moments are heart pounding. You feel a real incline to explore every nook and cranny just for an extra line of dialogue, it made me 100% the game and play it over 7 times. This masterpiece changed my way of thinking and has overall made me a happier person as a result. If you can handle a lot of reading (almost all of it is also voice acted), than i couldn't recommend a game more. Worth 10 times it's starting price.
