Whilst the game itself is solid enough, it pales in comparison to the stability and QoL fixes of the previous title.

Add to that the inexcusable attitude by CA towards the community, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ justifying price-gouging, and generally treating us like absolute garbage... Yeah that's a no.

As much as I absolutely ADORE the Warhammer IP and love the TW take on this fantastic world? Can't recommend this, any DLC, or (unless we see serious change in behavior from CA) any future product by the developer.

Sad. Genuinely sad.

8 years in delopment hell? Check.
Released after all this time as an EA title? Check.
Absolutely NO CHILL with awesome gameplay? Check.

This may sound, from the outside, as another "Duke Nukem Development hell BS" but honestly, it's already worth it for what it is now. And given that it's JUST released, it's only going to increase in value for you.

Having spent quite some time with the game, I now feel confident in writing an in-depth review of Total War: Warhammer II

The Total War Warhammer franchise is some of the best work CA has ever done, and with the 2nd installment in the trilogy, it reaches new heights.
The Vortex Campaign introduce us to four new races: High Elves (Asur), Dark Elves (Druchii), Lizardmen and Skaven. All four feature unique mechanics both on the grand strategy map of the campaign, and in battles where all four factions shine with their different methods, strengths and weaknesses.

Through DLC further factions were introduced to the game, to compliment the already impressive and formidable roster, all worth their own review and more often than not worth the purchase as well.

And here we arrive at the less ideal, though not specifically bad, portion of the review:
Where the game TRULY shines, is the Mortal Empires campaign. However, in order to access that you also need to own the previous installment of Total War: Warhammer, and to REALLY get the FULL experience you gotta have the DLC for that game as well, as all that carries over into the MASSIVE map that incompasses both the Old World and it's races from Total War: Warhammer and the New World and it's inhabitants from Total War: Warhammer II

It's such a grand experience, with hundreds of individual settlements, over one hundred factions, and so much to do you'll rarely find yourself bored. But that all adds up, and get really really expensive. So if you want the 100% experience, be ready to fork over some serious dough. I do recommend doing so, however!

The Graphics of the game, has been visibly improved over the previous installment, as has loading times (bar Mortal Empires, given the sheer amount of content), sounds, textures, everything really. It's an overall joyous experience to be sure!

Now to the negative parts, because there are some.

The Diplomacy is widely know to be lackluster compared to titles such as Medieval II, and feels very superficial and like a tool to merely secure more income through irrelevant trade agreements or prevent a war with someone via bribery. It's boring, oversimplified and just not very good.

The offices system of the Empire pre-update and of the current Woodelves are boring and lackluster as well, with no real incentive to do anything with it unless you want the meagre bonuses that are situationally and very rarely uniquely usefull and benificial.

Loading Times can be excrusiating in Mortal Empires unless your computer runs on Warpstone, or is otherwise top-of-the-line. With my slightly-above-average setup, loading times in the end game of Mortal Empires are usually long enough for me to do a few dishes, put on water for a cup of tea, hell sometimes even upwards of 7 minutes, meaning just enough time for a quick smoke.

If your PC has some serious CPU power and looooads of RAM, this should NOT be as bad, but for the average user it can be quite... lengthy.

Overall I'd recommend fans of Warhammer and/or Total War to get this, and the previous, game. It's a must have, and an absolute master piece with a few kinks sure, but nothing noteworthy.

9.5/10

tl;dr

Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 10/10
Gameplay: 9/10
AI: 8/10
Replay Value: 10/10
Cost: Expensive as hell for 100% experience
Worth buying: ♥♥♥♥. Yes.
DLC worth buying: If you got the money, yes. Without a doubt.

"Settra does not serve. He rules!"

And much like settra, this DLC rules. If you ever wanted to stomp some mortal butt with your legion of fanatical egyptian-esque skeletons (and a laser-beam shooting skeletal giant!) this is worth every single penny. The Vortex campaign integration is an interesting addition, and in Mortal Empires, the Tomb Kings are nigh unstoppable.... That is unless the AI plays them...

In any case

10/10 would rule again.

Having played this game a fair bit, mostly on Xbox due to my crappy PC, I can honestly say that I love it. It's not exactly the open-world madness that Morrowind was, nor does it have the amazing story and scaling that Oblivion did, but it's charming and entertaining in its own way.

Skyrim does to the RPG genre, what so many series before it has tried and failed to do: It makes it accessible for everyone. No matter if you're a seasoned gamer, or a complete beginner, you'll find Skyrim is able to cater to YOUR needs. Which is damn impressive.

With the addition of mods through the STEAM Workshop, the game only gets (potentially!) better, with near-unlimited lore friendly mods, that adds anything from new lands to explore, to reskinning the candles in Skyrim to 4k texture. Wonderful!

Although Skyrim does have a lot of flaws (some mentioned below), you're able to forgive the game for this, because it's just really really entertaining.

Final score: 8.5 / 10

Final judgement: Worth the money! Although it's quite a lot...

Pros:
- Fantastic RPG all round
- Soundtrack is gorgeous!
- Easily accessible by all players
- the addition of mods
- Fantastic gameplay

Cons:
- Lacks the freedom of Oblivion
- The guild system is terrible, and lacks content
- The main story is good, but way too short.
- The graphics are outdated, unless you use mods
- Still quite expensive, with all the DLC.

This game has tons of potential, and could potentially remove some of the negativity surrounding the "Dead Island" series.

Pros:
- Good crafting system that doesn't require you to spend real money, although doing so speeds up things considerably
- Option for both PvE and PvP
- Possible to team up with 4 friends and wreak havoc
- Great, fastpaced gameplay that keeps you on your toes at all times
- Co-Operation is a central thing, and failure to cooperate will result in termination

Cons:
- A bit repetitive at times
- Playing alone quickly makes it boring, thus friends are recommended to enjoy the game fully
- Microtransactions makes the game progress a LOT faster. Sure, you dont need to, but it does make a difference timewise
- Good lord the sound effects for all shotguns sound exactly the same -_-

Graphics 7/10
Sound 5/10
Gameplay 8/10
Replayability 7/10

Overall rating 6.75/10

TL;DR
A good co-op based game, that can be pretty fun when played with friends. Less so, when played alone.

Right, about time I made this review.

I remember this game, when it came out. Everybody was hyped for it, myself included.
And unlike what you might expect, all my skyhigh expectations was suddenly very real. The gameplay was smooth (for a freshly launched game, mind you), the levels were well made, and the action was fast paced.

Now, even after several hundred hours spent in the multiplayer, and many new titles being released since, I still find myself returning to this game from time to time. the amount of players still playing, is ever dwindling, as can be expected with an aging game.

but the feeling this game gives you, of nostalgia, of pure fun and carnage, is unlike any other game out there (save for DOOM 3, and UT 2004). It really is, an all time classic.

If you have yet to play this game, but like fast paced shoot-em-in-the-face-and-laugh type of FPS games, then this is for you. If you on the other hand like FPS games that require more though than duck, run, and shoot, this game (hell, this whole series of games) might not fall to your liking.

However, given that its drop in price of the years, althought still not cheap by any means, it's defo worth a try. If nothing else, to take on your mates, and have a blast that you will all be able to remember.

I hope this provided you with some usefull insight into this game.

All The best

Without doubt one of the best racing games, i've ever played! Graphics are incredible considering it's an early 2007 game, the cars have been balanced to perfection, and the GUI is pretty damn good. The AI is not as good as i would've liked, but it's actually not too bad either.

If there's one thing i dislike about Racedriver GRiD however, it would be the fact that Codemasters have shut down the Multiplayer servers, thus removing the ability to play online, at all. Not even LAN will work, without first connecting to their darn servers... Servers, that isn't online anymore. Pretty big mistake, imo.

Anyways, 9.5/10, defo worth the money for the would-be racer!
