so like yakuza 7, i absolutely hated the gameplay and some battle music genuinely pissed me off or annoyed me
(i literally bought the booster dlcs because i just couldnt deal with it anymore)

i really miss real time combat and i loved gaiden infinitely times more than this but it was still a nice experience

story was pretty good as always, very long and high budget this time around for sure like the marketing hinted at. the characterization was verrrryyyyy good this time around and they definitely addressed an issue i personally had with the previous game, where it felt like everybody except ichiban were just supporting statues in the background during cutscenes. although since that game was changed to an rpg during development, it could be from having to throw them into cutscenes that were already done? i dunno

there's a loooooottttttttttt of stuff to do which is great, lots of fun stuff to do it can be overwhelming lol

unfortunately i can rarely bring myself to enjoy rpgs but i tried to push myself with 7 and 8 since this is one of my favorite series and of course, the story is still continuing with these, so i want to still be able to experience it. i do wish real time combat would remain. i am happy that people who enjoy the new gameplay enjoy it though, it is nice that more people get to experience this incredible series

i'd say 6/10 for me, and don't let this deter you from playing the game, it is a phenomenal experience through and through, i just hate turn based rpg gameplay. if you love turn based rpgs and whatnot, (plus obviously are an existing fan of the series), there's so much to love here.

i remember playing sonic heroes when i was a kid and seeing the cutscenes made me want to do all that parkour and ♥♥♥♥.

welp, 5 years after a game that i chose not to buy (thanks mania for being there for me though), sonic team somehow turned around and made this game.

what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difference between this and forces, it's not PERFECT, and not game of the year material, but it is such a joy to play and run around and parkour as sonic in this game. his control hasn't felt this good since adventure 1, and in my opinion, i think it's the best he's ever felt. (though his maneuvering while trying to rotate a jump in the air can be a bit finicky SOMETIMES; this includes both open-zone and cyberspace control. but it was a problem for me (in the open-zone) like, twice? maybe three times? throughout the whole game.)

cyberspace control is a little finicky, and 2d platforming can feel sluggish, momentum-less, and horrifying to platform with sometimes, but there are some levels that can still be fun all things considered. (still not generations or unleashed levels of quality, think forces++)

the combat is flashy, fun to chain combos with, and that's about it. it's not addicting, but it's fun in short spurts.

the major boss battles (i won't spoil) are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INSANE, and i screamed like a girl out of excitement for some of the ♥♥♥♥ i was seeing.

the story and characterization of this game is excellent thanks to them finally getting freelance writer ian flynn who knows sonic thanks to his contributions to the IDW comics to kick ass for a game as ambitious as this. the story is good, but my favorite part of his contribution with this game is the tone and characterization of the entire cast here. it's great ♥♥♥♥.

and the music? it's tomoya ohtani dude. WHAT A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SOUNDTRACK. it's so atmospheric and varied in genres, there is no doubt at least 10 pieces of music here for everybody. there was this one track playing during chaos island that actually made me cry. ohtani went all out on this soundtrack and put a ♥♥♥♥ ton of love into it.

this game was quite literally a dream come true, and the 5 year wait was so worth it. going forward, i hope that sonic team recognizes both their successes and failures with this title and improve upon the formula, since they're just about to hit something massive with this style of 3d sonic. (and tell sega to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rushing them like they were trying to do with this one)

i give this game an 8/10; i'm gonna have a loooooooooot of hours on this game going forward by parkouring and running around as sonic while listening to podcasts and stuff on my downtime.

This is an excellent 3D platformer. To me it almost feels like a 3D platformer that is able to capture the tight and precise platforming movement of a 2D platformer, all while delivering in level design and artsyle. It's a joy to play and I'm not even half-way finished with it. 9/10.

Siren Head Hentai Edition is a game that I expected to be a simple waste of time and a cash grab. However, after playing the game for 0.3 hours, I must say, I am absolutely blown away.

The quality of this game is astonishing. I haven't encountered a single bug/glitch throughout any of my 2 playthroughs. Another feature I was shocked by was the fact that it has native 4:3 support, and I assume so with other aspect ratios. This is something that we rarely see in triple A titles today, and I welcome it.

Overall, I must say that Siren Head Hentai Edition is something that, while scary, is a lovely game that I recommend sinking your teeth into if you're up for a scary challenge, but one that is definitely worthwhile.

I don't think I have ever experienced a game as special as this.

From the music, to the atmosphere, to the characters, to the story; you do not expect any of it to grab you. At first, the story seems as if it's just there to be there, but all of a sudden, you subconsciously begin to invest yourself and before you know it, you've been following it for longer than you can remember.

This game is an absolute roller coaster of emotions. Its gameplay instantly had me hooked. (I recommend playing on at least hard mode) Have you ever played games such as Touhou and when the music kicks in super hard while you're dodging everything, you feel invincible? Imagine that, but cranked to the max and happening every second. It is an amazing feeling and you'll never forget it.

I 100% recommend this game for those who are interested in it. I give it a 10/10, making it one of my favorite games in terms of both the experience I had and the gameplay.
