Return of the Obra Dinn is a lo-fi mystery-solving game that actually lets the player solve mysteries. Although a couple of the solutions are absurdly counter-intuitive, most of them are extremely satisfying exercises in observation and logical deduction. The graphics are at turns charming and headache-inducing, but the low fidelity does play an important part in deciphering the mysteries of the Obra Dinn. I was a bit disappointed that the final chapter wasn't a more dramatic revelation, but overall this is a fantastic game that has finely tuned player-driven problem solving.
