It's just like borderlands 1, but graphically better. The ability to import a character is nice, and doing so earns you some achievements if you've done the required quests on that character (eg. The underdome). All-in-all, great game to get for free for owning the original, and you can now skip the original for the updated version c:

It's like the original flash The Binding Of Isaac, but with so much more, including autosaving and controller support.

The original was a great proof of concept, but rebirth is one of the best games, if not THE best game, ever.

Early Access Review
I've played a lot of games in my time. I have over a hundred hours in a lot of games. However, among those games, only three have given me sleepless nights. Only three have engulfed me to such a degree that I start playing when it's light, and remain playing until it's light again. Those three are maplestory, team fortress 2, and slime rancher.

A lot of slime rancher is guesswork or reading guides until you learn all the different quirks of the slimes. Most everything is in the slimepedia, but some of them aren't explained fully, such as largos and their nuances. The music is relaxing, good, and gets a bit repetitive after 14 hours straight, but the same can be said when listening to any music for 14 straight hours.

The gameplay is fun and intuitive. It was a blast to learn and master the vacuum device. The jetpack is a bit weird, kind of hard to feather, but when you get it down it's really useful.

At the time of writing, this game doesn't have much in the way of end content. Once you have a good enough ranch that you can buy anything you want, the point where money is no object, you're essentially done. There are no goals except maybe the range exchange, but I believe that is just randomized.

As far as the stability of the game is concerned, it crashed on me once, but my rig is a bit iffy at times. She's a very moody mistress.

Overall, I'm excited to see where this game goes. In the meantime, it's an excellent source of stress-relief.

play this first, not fallout 3. Better fallout game than fallout 4.

Early Access Review
It's the same game you played on the gamecube. Some new special effects, some new graphics, but overall the same game.

Pro:
-achievements out of the box
-VERY MUCH UPDATED special effects. Beautiful.
-controller support, with vibration (!!!!!!!!)
-can change look inversion for both up/down and left/right
-custom keyboard config support
-can skip text super fast if you have no time to read (or if you've played it already a million times)
-it runs
-somehow still early access, implying more content/updates
-subtitles
-some graphic settings, essentially the bread and butter of the most taxing settings are configurable
-despite the age, the sound is pretty crisp and clear
-price (12 bucks is pretty good)

cons:
-graphics, which somewhat updated, are still on-par with the original release
-no custom gamepad support (you can choose from 4 preset configurations)
-no super intensive graphics settings. You can change shadows, reflections, and draw distance to low, medium, or high.
-Some of the textures, like the shirts on the kangaroos, are kind of low still
-game seems complete, but still in early access for some reason

I understand it's a miracle we're even getting a pc release and I'm overjoyed for it. I can stop using my mostly reliable emulator and use the 100% reliable steam system for Ty now. To be honest, I had a hard time finding cons. Even the price is pretty good, which is somewhat rare when you look at remasters (cough cough SYSTEM SHOCK). The graphics are acceptable and the new effects are beautiful.

Fingers crossed for ty 2 and 3. I only ever played 1 and I'd be happy to play 2 and 3 legit somehow, without dealing with setting up my gamecube again.

great dlc.

Kind of short, I finished the main questline in two seperate sessions of 3 hours each

This DLC is more than the mechanist terrorizing the wasteland again, it brings robot crafting.
it's exactly what it sounds like, you get to make robots using materials you find in the wasteland.

The best part of this crafting is the potential. There are so many combinations, from weird, humorous looking robots, to robots that you can literally hide behind during an entire fight, letting them do the work.

Robobrain on a Mr. Handy hoverbutt? yes please.

My favorite part of this dlc though, is it solves a critical problem with settlements.

If you've ever come across a new settlement and claimed it, you know it's a waiting game for a bit. You get two settlers right away usually, but one will almost always go to the supply line to your main crafting base of operations. Then you're left with one settler, and you're kind of stuck for awhile since nobody wants to come to your one man settlement.

But now you have robots.

You can essentially craft settlers. You can make a robot for defense, a robot to find you materials, you can even set a robot up for a supply line.

Oh yeah, and did i mention robots have an enormous carry capacity?

At the end, you also get a new settlement you can use. Many people are dissapointed since you can't recruit humans to it (the beacon option is just gone), there's no dirt for planting food or water, and it's kind of huge. Just keep in mind the location of this settlement and that should give you some ideas on how to use it.

I give this dlc:
10/10 for value
5/10 for length
8/10 for originality
8/10 for humor (just poke the brain until it talks!)
overall, i'd buy it at its current price, if i already hadn't bought the season pass back when it was 20 bucks.

ok, now that i've played the game a bit, I can write a reasonable review.

This game suffers from what I call "FO3 Syndrome."

Basically, is it a good game? absolutely. Is is a good FALLOUT game? maybe not.

The crafting system is great and the resource balancing is fair. Fair enough that at several dozen hours in, at around level 50, with constant exploration, I still find myself running out of certain resources (Aluminum, oil, and adhesive, i'm looking at you.)

The perk system is a bit hard to get used to and it's not as fun as the older, simpler system.

There's also a lot of squandered potential here. A lot of cool areas where they could have put a simple interaction or minigame that they missed out on. For example, there's a robot racetrack. As you approach you hear the announcer doing his bit and you think "awww coolio, this'll go great with the automotron dlc! i can make a robot JUST FOR RACING and race it here???" but no. It's inhabited by hostile raiders. Even a simple betting minigame would be great. Instead we get another raider camp that we have to cleanse because violence is all anyone ever understands.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game and I love it. However, I don't think it can be considered a good FALLOUT game given the shallowness in the dialogue and the lack of depth in the world in general.

great game but it's missing...something.

Whatever this something is, it's critical to enjoying the game past a few hours.

Great learning aid. Does what it advertises and helps you learn foreign words.

some funny easter eggs too.

To people writing negative reviews because you expected it to teach you an entire language

learn to read. seriously. it says that it teaches words, not languages.

I don't know if I was ready for the troof.

Short platformer-like game. Very cleverly done.

i'd pay 8 bucks for it, but it's only 4 so good deal.

Devs are cool too.
