An awful lot of fun and strong 2024 GOTY candidate

One of the most charming, enjoyable, and respectfully unforgiving games I have played in a while.

Cons:
- Some slight bugs
- Ok to Poor community management
- briefly tried to implement PSN

Pros:
- one of the most enjoyable games of the year
- fantastic visuals
- awesome community
- you get to dive for liberty
- not P2W and very generous with getting 'premium' stuff for free

When I first bought this game it was pretty unrefined, had lots of yet to be implemented features, and bugged out at times but I still thought it was great and recommended it.
So it's kind of hard to understate how much I recommend it now that it has been refined and improved so much. There are so many new features it's a bit overwhelming and I love it.

Personaly I have enjoyed playing Vermintide 2, but taking a step back it is difficult to recommend it.

PROS:
-Satisfying melee and ranged combat
-Immersive and interesting characterisation and design
-GLORIOUS sound design and music
-Damn good looking at times
-The various careers are each fun to play and master
-Offers a real challenge, particularly with deeds and Legend difficulty
-All round fun, both in pubs and even more so with coordinated friends

However there are still a number of issues you should be aware of.

CONS:
-There are STILL no dedicated servers (you will lose all level progress on host dc)
-Pointless obfuscation of mechanics and stats (with the pathetic excuse that this is done to prevent min-maxing)
-Poor performance and optimisation is worse than on release
-Failure to meet their own publicly declared deadlines
-Features promised to be available on release are STILL absent (e.g. keep customisation)
-Cosmetics items are both rare and disappointing
-Updates have significantly slowed
-Anticheat authentication issues
-Some mechanical bugs (e.g. mission essential cannonball clipping through floor)
-Still only the illusion of choice regarding many weapons and talents
-Sound issues (meaning you don't hear the wonderful sound design)
-Spawning issues (i.e. specials pop into existence right in front of you)
-Failure to balance classes and weapons properly (albiet better than before)
-Two steps forward and a million back in regards to quality of life features from Vermintide 1
-Consistent bugs that have failed to be fixed since launch
-Updates often seem to break more things than they fix


Vermintide 2 is fun and I won't say I haven't enjoyed it or that I regret buying it, but it certainly has it's issues. Fatshark have listened to some community feedback but have shown an absolutely insulting lack of any quality control in others.
I would personaly be very cautious about buying Fatshark games on release in future.

Regardles of if you want to muck around in a sandbox, make something cool, or become a detective this game has you covered

an must-have, hours of content and just superb. I have got 190 hours of gamplay out of it so far and im not even halfway
