YOOOO!

Adventure-puzzle games live off the writing, and BOY are the puzzles clever and the jokes funny.

I can't recommend this game enough.

Yo, this game is baller.

Finely crafted roguelike action. It'll start you off slow like any roguelike, but the build up is good and once you've got the basics down the game is a hoot to replay.

This game exemplifies all the worst parts of point n' click adventure design.

The first half hand holds your way through. There are a couple interesting puzzles, but most are bring item that does X to place that needs item that does X. The plot here is good though; it has a lot of good build up and interesting characters.

The second half is a mess of dead ends and bizarre logic. I felt like a third of the puzzles I stumbled upon their solution accidentally, and another third I would have never figured out. Also, the plot goes straight into the gutter with a weird disappointing ending.

This game is pretty great. It plays just like my nolstalgic memories of Sonic and Knuckles. They manage to capture the speed of the old Sonic games while still having solid patforming.

Levels are large and fun to explore. Characters feel powerful and diverse. The boss fights are engaging and challenging (and there are lots of bosses). The music is upbeat, and the soundtrack is massive.

After beating the game I quickly restarted, just because the characters were so fun to use and the levels had so much left to explore.

Just as a heads up: The cutscenes are lengthy. The writing is terrible, like bad saturday morning cartoons except with several wierd dark parts. Just remember that you can skip them at any time.

I have mixed feeling about this game.

Pros:
-Cool mechanics, which build up.
-There are some really clever puzzles.

Cons:
-Some puzzles can be really fiddly. You move over a step to the side and an important puzzle piece falls off the side of the screen.
-Repetitve music
-You never see the whole puzzle at once.
-Ending of normal game is lame.

Overall, worth playing if you like this kind of game. The dev made a flash version if you want to get an idea how it plays.

This game brought up memories of my past life, where I had one arm and a pet tiger.

Really bland puzzle platformer.

The puzzles simply aren't that interesting.

Early Access Review
Gameplay is just like Serious Sam: Walk into room. All enemies either run at you or start shooting slow projectiles. Kill them all. Repeat.

One key difference is that the enemies are dead silent, rather dimly lit, and deal a lot of damage. When you walk into a new room, you can easily run backwards into a 12 foot high Satan and lose three hearts in an instant. You would think that this would make the game unplayable, but the number of different room layouts is so small that you will start remembering enemy spawn locations after a couple games.

Since the game is rogue-like, it is really tempting to play round after round in order to see new items. However, few items really change how the game is played. You are going to be running backward holding down your left mouse button a lot.

I only got as far as the floor where swastikas start appearing on walls and tiny fast moving raptors run at you (6th? 8th? I don't remember). That is when I realized I would have to memorize a whole new area of layouts, and that I had stopped having fun four hours ago.

Could it appeal to some people? Maybe. Could it improve? Maybe. I would not recommend buying it now.

Pretty much for the hardcore fans of Edmund McMillen only. A lot the collection is available free online (just google the names of the games included).

What you pay for is the unlockable art, the interviews, the soundtrack (included), and some extra (which tend to be very difficult). I loved the added content in this collection, but if you aren't a huge fan of Edmund's stuff this game isn't for you.

Even if you don't get the collection, you should play the games. Seriously, spend some time and find the original flash games, then play them. They are really really good. Time Fcuk is my favorite.

Except Triachnid. Screw that game.
