The multiplayer pisses me off so much, JUST HOW I LIKE IT. Game is 8.5/10 but the customization system brings it down to a 7 for me, it's awful

I've been playing since release and I have yet to hear more than one little kid. 11/10 buy pls

You want a genuine review? Here we go.
The singleplayer is tacked-on at best. It's a linear 10 or so missions with a "secret" eleventh mission. All are pretty dull and uninteresting, and really only served the purpose of warming up for multiplayer. Terrorist Hunt with friends can be very fun. Solo, it's boring.

Now the multiplayer, this is what you looked at the review for. Well....

It's damn fun. Playing solo sucks, but it can be done. Although don't solo-queue ranked matches, please. This game is best experienced with at least two other friends, preferably four. Nothing is more fun in this game than playing with a full squad of your buddies, doing your best to outplay the other team.

The operators. The selection of "characters" you have to choose from. Let's get right to it: There are NO BROKEN OPERATORS. Although, there are a few pretty useless ones. Now when I say useless, I mean when you see their ability actually come through, you don't have the reaction of "Cool." You react more along the lines of "Holy f**k, FINALLY." Those operators would be Tachanka and Doc. Tachanka has great weapons, but his turret just feels... kinda useless. When you get it right, it's both hilarious and epic. But that's just not how it pans out most of the time. His turret runs out of ammo very quickly, and while it will kill quickly, a single shield player completely negates you. Now Doc, I love him. He's one of my favorites. But I just have to admit that my teammates, as well as myself, get killed far too quickly for me to ever be truly useful when playing him. In Siege, you die in one headshot, period. And considering a lot of people just spray until they get the lucky headshot, that tends to happen more often than someone going down. When it works, it's great and I feel like I saved the day. When they die instantly, I don't even notice. I'd mention Bandit as underpowered, but his weapons more than make up for it. The MP7 and the M870 are both ridiculous.

As for all the other operators, they all serve their purpose. Although some (Thatcher, Thermite, Rook, Mute) are more necessary than others (Glaz, Blitz, Smoke, Tachanka), they all do their part in one way or another. As for me? My favorite attacker is Blitz, and my favorite defender is tied between Kapkan (oh my god those traps are so funny when they actually work) and Bandit.

The gunplay feels good; not great, but definitely good. Although I do wish they had more accurate damage models for headshots, and that seems like a pretty big problem to me. the point of the gunplay in this game is "realism", or as much realism as you could want in a competitive 5v5 FPS. This means that a headshot from any gun will one-hit kill ANY player, heavy armored or not. I can understand the light-armored characters going down in one hit, but the heavy ones? They can shrug off five or six shots to the body, but a single bullet from a .45 caliber pistol penetrates their riot helmet? That just doesn't seem right, and it definitely shows in gameplay. You will die countless times to BS-feeling headshots, and you will get plenty of BS-feeling headshots. It's not a fun experience, and adds a variable of luck to guns like SMGs, where one lucky shot from a 50-round magazine will kill just as well as a perfectly placed Glaz sniper shot. Luck should not be a factor when it comes to aiming, and the one-shot kill from SMGs and pistols? That needs to be addressed.

Don't let me steer you off course though. Other than that issue, the guns all feel useful in their own right, save for the GIGN's shotgun. Recoil seems fair for all weapons, and shotguns are actually relevant due to their great ability to destroy walls.

Shields are not OP. They really just aren't. Sure, facing one head-on is stupid, but it's not the end of the world if you're stuck in a 1v1 against one. Pistol hip-fire accuracy was reduced, so you have a lot of options to deal with them.

The destruction is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous and well-implemented. It's not just a gimmick, either. There have been plenty of times each match where someone will blow a hole in a wall to get an unexpected angle on an entrance. It adds a whole new layer of depth to the maps, and allows for some pretty crazy crossfires. This also means that nearly every wall is a door. It's a great feeling when you're pinned behind a door and you use your shotgun to blow through the wall behind you and escape. It also doesn't seem to impact framerate a whole lot. A have an i5-3570k and a GTX660, and my frames only drop by about 3 during wall explosions. Never dropping below 60-70. Not bad.

The netcode? Ehhhh.... It's better, but it's still not the best in the world. In the first significant patch, they fixed a ton of issues people had been asking about. One of those was to improve the tickrate, which they did. They bumped it up from 30 to 60. This is a big difference, and made the game feel a lot more legit, for lack of a better word. You die around corners a lot less frequently, and you no longer get shot by people who weren't even there on your screen. There are still some latency and connection issues, but surprisingly, Ubisoft is actually WORKING TO FIX SOMETHING. I know, right?

Microtransactions? Not really. It's just for skins and renown boosters, which boost your team's renown gain as well. Most of the skins can eventually be bought with renown, and they've already started giving people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Plus, CSGO goes crazy with skins and people love it. Are you surprised R6S has something like that in ti?

This, though, is the main point: THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN BUY THAT WILL GIVE YOU AN ADVANTAGE. Nothing. Nothing can be bought with real money to give you an edge versus people who aren't spending real money, and Ubisoft "says" it's going to stay that way. I hope so.

Overall, it's a fun game with a ton of potential if Ubisoft actually gives a sh*t and does things properly. It has some significant flaws, such as 1-hit pistol headshot to heavy armored characters. It also has some weak spots in the operator lineup, such as Tachanka's mediocre turret and Doc's lifesaving syringe that's hardly ever used. Despite this, it's one of the most fun games I've played, and I will continue to update this review as new information becomes available, and things are changed. I highly recommend this game, but do wait for it to go on sale, as $60 is silly for a multiplayer-only game.
