As with all Rockstar Games, better not lose access to your email. My old email from 2015 (when I first bought GTA V in high school) got deactivated a few years ago from inactivity when I switched to my new email. Never thought to transition my Rockstar account, as at the time, this game launched from Steam as opposed to the Rockstar launcher. However, once Rockstar made it so you had to launch through their new launcher, I found I could no longer play this game, or any other games from Rockstar.

My Steam ID is linked to that account which no longer exists. Steam refuses to unlink that Rockstar account. As it is a Rockstar issue, Steam has "no authority over that". Rockstar will not let me unlink that account. They say get with Google about recovering that account. Google refuses to reactivate the account, as it was deleted over five years ago. In order to play this game, I have to make an entirely new steam account, rebuy the game, and create a new Rockstar account which, likely, will one day face the same fate. I am not alone in this issue--Rockstar has had multiple BBB complaints lodged against them for this very issue. They don't care, they're not BBB accredited so they have nothing to lose, and stand to gain even more money from you having to repurchase their games. So why bother?

As good as this game was a decade ago, for this reason alone I cannot recommend it or any other Rockstar games on Steam. Best to purchase this through a console.

Steam will not refund the game of which I only spent 110 minutes playing.
