Nov 2018: This game is like a time machine. As soon as you start playing, you are immediately transported 6-8 hours into the future.

Nov 2024: Game is still fresh, and fun. Dangerously fun. I stay away, otherwise I get sucked in and it's hard to return to reality. The factory must grow!

This game is a prequel of the first game in the Blackwell series, and is fairly similar to it. The plot is similar, some characters are the same, and the gameplay in general is that of a nicely crafted adventure game. There are however some differences also, such as different art style, different dynamic between characters, and some adjustments to gameplay from the first game.

Without going into spoilers too much, here are pros and cons, according to me.

PROS:
Low price;
Really good story, better than the first game, in my opinion;
Interesting dialogue;
Better puzzles, didn't get stuck as much as the first one;

CONS:
Absolutely completely remarkably poor choice of achievements, some are impossible to find without the guide, some are downright annoying. Sure some are OK, but that is not an excuse for the two smoking achievements that have no purpose and do nothing except irritate the player who has to replay the game just because the girl smoked and extra smoke or did not smoke enough.
Less likable art style, art feels rushed and, well, amateurish. No character portraits, which is disappointing, especially compared to the first game.
Needed to play the game twice to get the commentary achievement, and then another time to get the smoking achievements (the girl smokes more when Joey is active and you are listening to the commentary). This is 3 times I had to play a game that does not change one bit from playthrough to playthrough. I find this completely unacceptable and poor game design (believe it or not, achievements are part of game design, and if you choose to include them, make sure they add to the game and not subtract from it).
I feel the need to type things in manually demands more from player, as in have a piece of paper and a pen on them when playing. I found this to be somewhat annoying, A game should not need to do that to a player.

Overall, I can only recommend this game because of the good story and puzzles.

This is a nice short game with an interesting story, smart puzzles and well-developed characters. I enjoyed it, despite the fact that I had to play through it twice to get all the achievements.

PROS:

Low price;
Cute nostalgic graphics;
Well-crafted story;
Smart and fully voiced dialogue.

CONS:

Some may consider this game too short;
Needed to play the game twice to get all the achievements;
Minor issue with commentary - some clips played more than once;
Some puzzles are not as straightforward as they could be, creating confusion instead of offering a fair challenge;
Have to retrace steps much more than should be needed.

Overall the game is nicely done, enjoyable although with a few issues. Also, even though I had to play the game the second time to get the commentary achievement, the commentary itself offers nice insights into the development of this game and issues and successes the author had during the course of making this game happen. Outside of replaying it for the commentary the game does not really offer any replayability, which is common for the adventure games, so it's not a big deal.

I now have over 10 hours on this game (10.4 to be exact), so I believe I deserve an opinion. Also, I plan to update this review after I have played it for 100, 1000 and 10,000 (if i survive this long) hours to see how my opinion changes and how much value this game saves over time.

I am not a fan of FPS games, and the only reason I downloaded this game was "why the hell not, it's free and looks alright". I am very happy I made this decision, since this is one of the best games I have ever played. It is full of action, variety, and, most importantly, explosions! Also, hats. Even though there are items you can purchase for real money in game, they are not necessary. I have enjoyed the game for 8.5 hours before deciding to purchase a sniper rifle, and there is not much difference before and after the upgrade.

The game is also a very polished product, no annoyances, only enjoyances. Very good cartoony graphics, subtle humor rarely found in FPS games, and many gameplay options to choose from.

Can't recommend this enough, so all kinds of gamers. Whether or not you are a FPS fan, give this game a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.

When I downloaded this game, I was hoping for something like Machinarium, which I enjoyed a whole bunch, but instead I got a poorly drawn boring wannabe of an adventure game. Puzzles are simplistic, and instead of being puzzling they are actually just frustrating. Much of the content is redundant, such as having a door and a button right next to that door to open that door. All this does is make the game more frustrating. The little cutscenes and animations are meant to be cute but instead they are annoying, they detract from the flow of the game, making the game a stuttering experience. One might argue that they are meant to be an eye candy, but it will take a whole lot more than just a few annoying instances of so-called "eye candy" to make this game look good. Overall, the metacritic score (currently 50) is a very accurate description of this game. Nothing to love but nothing to really hate. It is incredibly mediocre and definitely not worth the full asking price. I will enjoy deleting it from my computer after I am finished with it.
