THEY GOT RID OF GFWL. GET THIS COOL GAME

The levels are wonderfully reimagined and the added intereactions with npcs in some of the scenes are just great. It's just not a very engaging shooter and it's mostly at the fault of the AI, it's just not very engaging and down right stupid and unresponsive at times, staring into space, staring at YOU and very slow at decision making. Grunts just use dull combine ai and enemies like the bullsquid just act as near stationary turrets. Some people want to argue that the AI in the original half life was stupid in defense of this game (and hl2) but at least the AI in that game did interesting things, bullsquids were very aggressive for example and would rush you and hgrunts would do fun things like kick back player grenades or drop grenades at their own feet and try to bait the player and even make an effort to flank if a level's layout would allow it.

I think BM also suffers from like wonky ammo distrubution, it gives you too much of the good stuff. I ended up using the revolver and trivilazing most fights with vorts, human and alien grunts thanks to how there just seems to be ammo for the thing around almsot every corner and in almost every box (+ the dumb ai helped too)

I really hope the devs can do something about the ai when xen finally rolls around. :(

completed it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what a awful broken mess, how can anyone think this is good especially with the last half of the game with broken ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ai, broken ♥♥♥♥♥ zombie animations, broken awful everything. it was like playing some awful ut04 mod, jesus christ
