game is fun to play, entertained me for quite a long time. plus, despite not being perfect, AI poses enough challenge to play for 20-30 seasons especially when using in-game editor to create wonderkids/add cash to competing teams.

my only wish was that the game had already an engine forcing balance i.e. the more you win, the more its difficult to keep... example: if you win one champions league, you should be amazing to win second one, and even more amazing to win 3rd.. and 4th in a row, should not be possible.

net net - very happy w the game

civ5 was a great improvement vs civ4. one unit per tile really change the game dynamics to slow land control -- which has its ups and downs.

the concept of limiting expansion was good, although not the best design.
online games are fun, although too repetitive. id rate it 6/10, not the best game in the franchise but still fun to play!

game is fun, the introduction of districts, culture tech tree and competition for great person was a huge plus.
a bit of too much reliant on long term planning - and online game duration didn't really thought through

i give it a 8/10, which puts it as the 2nd best game in Civ's franchise to date.

to date, its the best game in the franchise. it introduced simultaneous moves, golden age, city borders, better diplomacy...

when it comes to the multiplayer gaming experience, it was well thought - with options such as 1 city elimination, regicide, plus it's very easy to mod (almost as easy as civ2), which allows for very interesting scenarios that even 20 years after game launch are still fun to play.

10/10 -- which explains why there are so many people playing it today compared to all other 'dated' civ versions (civ1/2/3/4/5)
