At this point, I think most people know what they're getting into with Guild Wars. It's a great MMORPG with a genuinely good community. You can play casually, or there's plenty of material and events to keep more intense players occupied. It's great that this game only requires payment once, with no recurring subscription required to keep playing for as long as you'd like. While there are ways to boost your play in the game by paying for gems to buy things, you can also buy gems with in-game gold, so there really is no need to pay for anything other than the expansions.
