It's easy to see why a lot of people didn't like this game - Guerilla gave you an open-world and some really cool weapons to play with whilst this puts you into a corridor/tunnel and throws insects at you pretty much constantly.

As a linear shooter it's actually pretty decent - the enemies aren't just dumb targets, you'll need to move and use the right weapons at the right times etc. - but all of the demolition from earlier games is a sideshow here and whilst the nanoforge 'rebuilding' stuff is a really cool effect, it's role in the game is even less central (it's a minor puzzle element at best)

So as part of the series it's a let-down, but as a 'bug hunt' shooter it's actually fine - expectations adjusted, you'll probably enjoy it.

This really is rather good, it expands on the basic game of Freecell, there's a TONNE of map to cover, there seems to be loads of stuff to find/buy/unlock - but it's basically a LOT of Freecell ;0

If you don't LIKE Freecell (probably the most played computer game in history given it's inclusion in Windows from 95 thru 7!!) this won't change your mind perhaps - but it certainly adds quite a bit to the formula and it gets pretty challenging at times too!!

It's a great little time-stealer, basically - my ONLY complaint is that the music consists of just a couple of short loops which, whilst fine in themselves, might start to drive you insane after about an hour ;0

Ignore any attempt to suggest this is some sort of Sudoku thing with letters - it's just a 'fill in the crossword without knowing the clues" game and it's fine as far as that goes.

If you like the idea - you'll like the game, basically.

If it has a problem, it's that a lot of the solutions require guesswork - there's only so much you can do with logic before you have to try something - and there's no 'Undo' (just a total reset) which can make that slightly frustrating.

Another gripe is you can't 'swap' letters - that's just laziness on the part of the developer (you have to drag a letter off, move the other, move the first back instead)

As I said - if you like the idea of "make the letters fit the crosswords" you'll like it, just bring a large vocabulary!

This is an interesting idea - a sort of breakout with a 'free roaming' bat and some puzzle elements.

I'd recommend it if it didn't have a TONNE of physics bugs/issues - the "ball" can get stuck in bricks, you can 'pass through' the ball with your 'bat' and so on. There's really no excuse for this - Unity's physics are quite good if theyr'e used properly but here they're not being used properly at all.

The fact you can play with a pad but must use KBM for the menus etc. is also just laziness - the whole thing has an air of 'half finished' about it (I genuinely assumed it was Early Access on my first play!!)

It's not unplayable by any means but it really does seem like someone just stopped working on it one day ;0

Good News is the developer continues to improve the game and many of the issues I posted in my last review have been addressed.

Ball Speed seems to now have an upper limit (before it could go so fast it passed-through stuff)
Flippers now seem more solid/less prone to fumbles/pass-throughs
Level changes are more surviveable and the ball is more visible in general

It's still not quite perfect - some tuning of flipper angles and gaps would probably make it a bit more skill-based and remove some unlocky losses but it's FAR more fun that it was a few patches ago

Here's hoping for more!

First-up, calling it "Bullet Sponge Invaders" would be a lot more descriptive!

The game starts-off slow and stays that way for a while - weapon upgrades appear sometimes - enemies types are limited - patterns are uninteresting and it just keeps on repeating the boring stuff until the difficulty spikes and - well - I think it's too-little too-late by then.

FAR better shump games exist - many cost nothing - there's NO reason to buy this.

This is one of those "I followed a tutorial for Unity and made a game" games - it just doesn't feel like a completed commercial product, more like a work-in-progress?

It's a top-down driving shooter with RPG-like missions/rewards/things to improve you car with. Seems there's plenty of cars/guns/things to do but...

Downsides are rather basic driving physics, VERY moody collision detection and a menu system/UI which actively gave me a headache!! There's a lot of stuff in those, thar menus - you'll need to guess your way around until you find it tho!

Don't get me wrong, all the elements are there, but there's no polish and - well - not much fun that I could find.

It's really quite good - sort-of Tetris but really not Tetris...

It has a load of game modes and plenty of hooks - it has that "nearly dead and rescued at the last second" thing which Tetris was brilliant at

Highly Recommended

p.s. if you like that, seek out Slydris - it's not available on Steam but is worth finding as it's also a rather excellent Tetris Variant!!

A too-simplistic physics puzzle which is short and often relies on chance (someone compared some of the levels to a pachinko machine - which is a fair description)

It looks and sounds nice enough and there's some interesting ideas, but the lack of content and annoyance of 'take your chances' elements killed it for me.

Note: The game has a 'star' system for first-time solutions but that only applies to SOME of the levels - I assume the others are so random it makes no sense to offer that?

It's hard to recommend on that basis - I found it more frustrating than anything else

p.s. I did 12 of the 50 puzzles and I'd not played long enough to leave a review at that point (less than 5 mins) - so there's well under an hour of content here...
