Core Keeper has easily become one of the best survival crafting sandbox games I've had the pleasure to play. It's taken ideas from the greats like Minecraft, Stardew Valley and most of all Terraria, and innovated on the genre in so many ways.

If you enjoyed any of these games, I'd say you'd be mad not to try Core Keeper given its price. As I doubt you'll be disappointed by what you find, especially when played with friends.

Can't recommend picking up Forza Horizon 4 enough! (And importantly before it's delisted shortly on December 15th) Having originally played it on the Xbox and now again years later on Steam, it remains a blast to play. With a beautiful map, huge roster of cars and an almost endless number of activities to race through, it's well worth the sale price. I'm not normally a racing game kind of player, but this game really stands out as exceptional, and something you really don't want to miss out on.

Ten hours into Warframe, the biggest issue I have is that I didn't jump into this free to play game sooner. The gameplay really is the definition of 'just have fun', a true power fantasy. Where from the moment you arrive as an 'ancient cosmic space ninja', you're not held back in the slightest. And combined with the use of melee weapons, it's a refreshing change from the hundreds of FPS games out there today.

The art style is incredibly unique and the graphics are really well done. Warframe (which originally released in 2013) is built on an entirely custom game engine, and so it's amazingly impressive to see that it still holds up, more than ten years later. And also includes modern features you'd expect like DLSS/FSR upscaling.

But the bits that really made me give this game a chance, are it's accessibility and monetisation. It's fair to say modern triple-A gaming is in a rough place these days. And that's nowhere more evident than in the live service genre. For example, I've always wanted to get into playing Destiny. But it's clear even as an outsider, that it's not a game that respects it's players. Warframe seems to do things differently than most, with a generous free to play model that doesn't prey on your wallet. And unlike games like Destiny or League of Legends, there's no vicious parasitic anti-cheat. Meaning I can play with peace of mind, and on any platform including Linux with my Steam Deck.

Overall I'm super impressed. It's been great to hop on for an hour or so at a time, and just unwind in this awesome new universe. Very much looking forward to exploring everything Warframe and it's community has to offer!

If you don't have a wheel, or a lot of patience for now quite old 2014 racing game. Which unfortunately needs a lot of mods to really make it shine. Then like me, I don't think this game will be right for you.

Assetto Corsa is a racing sim, with heavy emphasis on the simulation part. For what it is, it's an amazing bang for your buck, and I know many others love this game. However, if you're after short burst of fun, it's sadly a very involved experience for new players like myself.

Whilst Zeepkist might just consist of you getting inside a box with wheels and then rolling down a hill. It's seems to find a lot of fun and laughter with this super basic premise. And as such, it's super easy for anyone to join in, and here it's definitely a case of the more the better! Plus with thousands of workshop maps, you will almost certainly never run out of new content to play together.

Awesome simple fun with guns. Risk of Rain 2 really is just point and shoot, but done in an incredibly satisfying way. Without any of the classically boring and tedious tasks, like needing to pick up ammo or XP. Sit back and relax, and see how far you can get through this third-person shooter, action roguelike. Before meeting your demise, and instead of mulling over failure, being way more excited about doing it all over again.

Astronimo is a wonderful little co-op gem! It was a ton of fun, with it's hilarious physics, cute style and wacky contraptions. Together with friends you get to solve interesting puzzles, all whilst goofing out as someone punches you, blows a trumpet or just drags you into a pit of lava. All around Astronimo is great time, and definitely deserved more attention than it got.

Edit: I've now played a tad bit more than just four hours, it's that good...

Wow, no way four hours just went by like that, but dam was it a good time.

Balatro feels like it's joined that small elite club of indie smash hits (think Vampire Survivors). It's a small game (almost just one screen) but with a lot of fun and endless replay value. Balatro's not really about poker, sure it's a card game and the score system is based on poker hands. But it builds an entirely new rogue-like game around that. Super simple fun, gorgeous pixel art and great game design, an easy recommend from me.

Factory Town Idle is a great take on the idle game genre. Unlike similar games, Factory Town Idle isn't just 'number go up', instead there's a level of management to your towns supply chains. But it's done in a neat way, in the sense that you can completely control everything, or just set most of it to auto. Leaving the player to decide how involved they want to be with their towns progression path.

Factory Town Idle has a huge amount of content to unlock and multiple towns to create, which all run in parallel. Meaning once you start a new town, you can setup a trading post to reap the benefits of the progress you've made in previous settlements.

Overall this little idle game has been a delight to chill with. And if the low purchase price wasn't enough, I highly recommend trying the demo first.

Yes this game is as good as everyone says. When you put a small group of friends inside a confined abandoned building, with strange creepy monsters coming at you left and right. And you have to communicate via proximity chat with everyone becoming their own in game voice actor. The result is magic, in the form of your very own live-action indie horror/comedy movie.

Even if you don't end up playing Lethal Company, please go and enjoy the countless clips online. Everyone's experience in this game is always so different, it's feels fresh and fun every time. Compound that with the literal thousands of mods available, right now there's something new to experience everyday.

So grab a friend or two and enter the building. Just make sure to keep and eye on one another, as at any moment saying "Hello?" could be met with deafening silence. And the question dawns on you... 'Where did everyone else go?'.
