This is a great game, but I cannot not give it a positive review score, nor can I recommend it. There are several reasons but the main one is that Ground Zeroes, a fricking demo, cost more than the actual game at the time of writing this review. And to get the full experience of this game, you need to import a save file from ground zeroes. Of all the nonsense giant game publishers have pulled over the last decade, this is by far one of the absolute sleaziest, most anit-consumer business moves I have ever experienced. I say this as someone that has played and beaten all the other previous games before it.

Told myself that the instant I see this game on sale I'm buying it. And I advise all others to do so as well before they take it down and replace it with some money grabbing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I made a rule for myself that I wouldn't buy anymore games regardless of price until I cleared my library unless it was under special circumstances, and after witnessing what they did with RE 3, this counts as 1 of those instances.

If you're going to get this game for the single player experience then yes it's a great game, but it's been tainted by a microtransaction infested online mode. I don't have a problem with gta online per say, but when you release microstransaction based dlc for the online mode when earlier you had stated releasing a pay upfront story based dlc, it's pretty clear that only the bottom line matters to you. It's even more infuriating to look at the stats and see how many people are okay with this nonsense, thus encouraging this cyclical bs until it becomes the norm, perhaps it already is. I for one can't support this and neither should anyone else reading this.

I'm not part of the overwhelming majority of stupid fans that started this series off by playing the third game and ♥♥♥♥♥ about the new art and story direction, I'm one that played and beat the first one right around the time it came out (and IMO the best in the series) and I have to say gameplay wise this game is fantastic. Story wise could do some work but with that in mind I feel like they have nailed the difficulty of building style points. Not too hard but difficult enough such that when you reach SSS it's overwhelmingly satisfying. The story was fine, and the character redesign didn't bother me all that much, all the games in the series are cheesy to some extent.

Conclusion: If you need a dose of beat em' up adventure on the pc this is the only game to get, period.
