A different game from its high flying and acrobatic predecessor, Doom Eternal, but still very much comes through with that same satisfying, Doom style power fantasy game loop. The intro of the shield in this game is huge, it's a super fun way to zip around the battlefield and fling into big boys to stun them. I loved that every weapon through the game never seemed to lose utility, you could really stick to your favorites and still easily plough through the hordes. I do wish the weapon swapping was a little smoother, or there was a way to upgrade swap speed or swap while holding the shield or something like that. I highly recommend!

I would sort of call this a puzzle shooter, with a very unique play style that incorporates different mechanics that allow you to finish each level in your own style. Art style and audio cues blend into the environment really well. The story was a little hard to follow but watching the cut scenes in an unbroken order helps.
