The game was unplayable for almost a MONTH, due to technical issues. This has finally been fixed. You are actually able to play the game now. Amazing.

That being said, it went from having pretty graphics, to looking like CS 1.6 right now. But at least it works.

I wish I could go back to playing Quake Champions from August. There was nothing wrong back then - better graphics, better stability (albeit still unstable), better experience.

And don't even get me started on the pointless nerfs, the interface changes, the broken new gamemodes that nobody wanted, or the boring new characters.

I'll be happy to lift the negative review once the technical issues are solved.

A surprisingly good title with an active tournament scene, and frequent developer support. Very recommended.

I hate to say this, but avoid Insurgency Sandstorm.

They made some decisions to change the core gameplay, which is fine. But the game has lost its' soul. We get:
  • An increased time to kill
  • AP/HP ammo is gone
  • Reduced recoil
  • Increased equipment budget
  • More HUD
What you end up with is just Battlefield 3, but with worse graphics, and you can't pilot the planes.

Speaking of planes, let's talk about the fire support. Whatever you radio in, HQ is always going to reply "it's coming". They couldn't even be arsed to record "mortars are coming" or "autocannon is coming". Nope, only one line.

They also removed flashlights, and removed night mode for some reason.

As for the graphics - the game is unplayable in its' current state. It somehow managed to be even worse optimised than Quake Champions. "Insurgency Stutterstorm" comes to mind. And for those of you rich enough to own a GTX 1080 Ti - you get to enjoy a sea of brown.

I'd write more but can't be bothered. Just get Battlefield 3 instead (2012). Or continue playing Insurgency 1.

Stutterstrom, unfortunately, I will have to refund.

I don't know why, but I enjoyed the heck out of this game. Definitely get it if you enjoy political toilet humour.

Will delete this review once technical issues are solved.

Good game, but on the verge of unplayability as far as optimisation.

In Hitman 2016 I never went below 100 fps. Playing the same maps in Hitman 2018, I get 30-50fps on the lowest settings, with random stutters & crashes.

Don't buy it yet.

It's a fun little game, but not as good as it is hyped up to be.

Provides the exact same gameplay experience as Bioshock Infinite. However, the setting is more interesting, and it has more flavour.

Steam version has horrendous technical issues. Game is unplayable unless you know how to install engine hacks. Game is not optimised at all. I'm able to get 100fps in GTA5, but not in Wolfenstein. Also stability issues.

Absolutely nothing special. Very cool setting & aesthetics, but you won't be able to run the game on high graphics settings. Mediocre gameplay. Mediocre story. I would skip this one, unless it's 5$.

A very good laptop game, or for slow computers in general, and comes with relatively slow gameplay. Considering how few turn-based games there are out there, this is by far one of the best ones on the market. I can't recommend it enough, although it has limited replayability.

Very satisfying audiovisuals. The story is generic, but at least there's the fact that every game-over & every new-game ties into the universe, and is consistent with the story. The immersion is uninterrupted, the fourth wall is never broken, you get shamed for resetting your game hoping for a good RNG start, and the stats/highscores keep track of everything you do.

Valid complaints would include unrealised potential for greater variety, lack of choices/encounters for the story, few mission types, unimpressive ending, etc.

However, the two most common complaints are:

"It's too hard" - absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Easy/medium difficulty are a cakewalk, and a waste of time. Assuming that you play on hard, the game is difficult for new players, which is tons of fun. As you get better, you will reach a point where it's impossible to lose, so long as you play it safe.

This rarely happens, though. You'll screw up due to recklessness, embrace the YEET lifestyle, or put artificial limitations on yourself (such as "I won't buy the strongest weapon in the game because it'll be too easy"). Then you lose.

Into the Breach on hard is comparable to XCOM on classic difficulty. Much shorter (3 hours per campaign, as opposed to 60), so you could argue that it's easier. I would like for ITB to come with an impossible difficulty for future DLC.

"It's not as good as FTL" - this can be said about... anything on the market, really. FTL is one of the greatest PC games in history. The comparison is pointless. Personally, I'm glad that they chose to experiment with a slightly different genre, rather than just making an FTL 2.

A superb choice for slow laptops with a high battery capacity. A must buy if you have a long airplane ride coming up.

If you're stationary, $15 may seem a bit pricey. Definitely get FTL first.

Very good audiovisuals & storytelling.

Gameplay-wise, it's a poor man's XCOM with poor controls and unskippable animations. More effort seems to have been put into the weapon variety. There are a lot of cutesy, wild-west engineering marvels. The game also comes with a decently fleshed out ability card combo system, as well as location-based damage & permanent wounds that stay for entire campaigns.

At the right price, I'd recommend it solely for the morbid storytelling aspect.

Probably the best £2 game I've ever bought. At this price there's no excuse not to buy.

I came in expecting naval battles in the Warhammer 40k universe. What I got instead was:
  • Ability-cooldown juggling.
  • Infinite torpedos on a short cooldown that you have to aim manually.
  • Ships have very little inertia. They accelerate/decelerate as if they were cars.
  • The high energy turn ability means that they can make 90 degree turns almost instantly. Aircraft carriers need 1-2 seconds to turn 90 degrees.
  • Ships turn too fast even when you run out of special fuel (which regenerates for free and very fast). All ships can turn while stationary.
  • If you equip a teleporter on a ship, it can teleport ~15% of the map's length and end up in any rotation you like. Even battleships and aircraft carriers can take this.
  • Stern-mounted weapons dominate.
  • Multiplayer is infested with overpowered DLC units.
  • The voice acting is pretty good, though.

The strongest aspect of this game is the command interface, allowing you to select how enemy ships will be engaged (portside, stern, starboard), at what distance (3k 6k 9k 12k), and what ship compartment to aim for. It's fantastic! Every RTS game should have something like this!

That being said, the game nullifies the advantages of having a somewhat-autonomous, customisable unit AI by forcing you to monitor the 90 and 15 second cooldowns on all eight of your ships, fire all of their torpedos manually, not to mention clickspamming the "melee range attack thing" which can't be autofired.

If you want a good naval battle game, try Total War Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai. It takes 30 minutes to find a game, the controls there are terrible and unit AI are non-existent, but in that game it takes a battleship over 90 seconds to perform a rotation, torpedos have limited range and ammo, and even the tiniest gunboat have a long path to accelerate/decelerate.
