In my opinion, this one is what a truly great Dark Souls game should be. The world map and exploration create a seamless, expansive, and lonely adventure driven by perseverance and curiosity.

The combat and character controls aren’t as smooth or fast-paced as those in newer games, but they feel more grounded and realistic. You won’t be dodge-rolling like a ninja while wearing plate armor. At least not in the early to mid-game.

Overall, it can be frustrating and challenging at times, but it delivers a deeply memorable and rewarding experience in the end.
