Oh. My. Goodness. It's wonderful. Oooh. The sound design. The UI. THE ANIMATIONS?? All of that was brilliant even in the original game and they managed to make it even better?? I'm blown away. Wow. The combat system will require me getting used to it, but its definitely interesting. I cant wait to see what they have planned for the full version!! I love yiik!!

Originally i was gonna leave a short review with a thumbs up saying something stupid like "this is a game i think", but upon actually finishing it and seeing it getting so much hate online, i decided YIIK deserves an encouraging review that actually depicts my thoughts and feelings about the game.

First of all, i would like to highlight the game's complex story (but still relatively easy to narrate through, thanks to Alex' confusion leading to situations getting explained in simpler terms later on) that includes general topics such as paranormal activities, 90's culture and refferences, vinyls and travelling through realities and the uniqueness of each soul. It also briefly touches deep real life topics like depression, racial discrimination, impostor syndrome and a loss of a dear loved one in an elegant positive way. The story is full of shocking discoveries and unexpected turns, glueing you to your screen, excited for whats about to come next.
A very important part of this game for me was also the huge variety of characters: from Alex, the hated protagonist that, to me, just felt overly emotional which made him feel human, his childhood friend Michael with often lighthearted satirical mindset, over to both fun and serious siblings Claudio and Chondra you can always depend on, through Rory, a stranger on the internet who often feels lost, and all the way to Vella, a mysterious badass arcade worker with a big secret. The main cast's personality grows and their background is revealed through the story and I think they're generally very well written. There's also plethora of interesting and fun background characters ranging through a golden alpaca with wings to also just a guy trying to fund a campain for his little magazine.
Oh and i need to mention the soundtrack: this game singlehandedly got me back into looking up individual OSTs to add them to my playlists! very memorable and intriguingly composed, some still randomly start playing in my head to this day.
I also loved the voice acting, which sucked you into the game even deeper, everyone's voices fit their characters really well.

I'll admit, the game does have some flaws. The combat is turn based, similar to pokemon or undertale, but with countless quick time events, and I found this repetetive and straight up annoying at times. The devs are reworking this and we should see it in the upcoming YIIK I.V game, so I'll keep an eye out in that. Also I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, and this game had a lot of puzzle segments, where i sacrificed many of my braincells. They werent bad puzzles, I even completed most of them without a walkthrough, but it was just too much for me, which resulted in me taking many long breaks from the game.
There is also a lot of dialogue that people seem to be upset about. Yes, some of it is literally useless and cringey, but I would be lying if I said I didnt giggle at how bad it was at times. So, for me, this was a positive, but I can understand the hate haha

TL;DR: YIIK: A Postmodern RPG definitely isnt a game for everyone, but it is undeniably a unique gem in the indie game scene that I will keep in my heart for years to come, and if you found my review intriguing i encourage you to get the game and see for yourself.

This is hands down one of the best games I've ever experienced. I'd go as far to say that this isn't just a game, it's art, as it's carried by wonderful sceneries, deeply written stories and well designed characters, with a huge weight on your morale and decisions.
This game is about a bad political situation happening in the 90's, where you play as the suffering teens trying to grasp a better life by fleeing the country. These long roadtrips consist of randomly computed encounters and I am utterly shocked how the devs managed to come up with so many and make them all make sense, no matter if you get them in the early game, or towards the end, where you already know what the characters are up to.
You can tell that this was the labor of love for everyone working on it, and that is so nice to see and be able to experience through playing. I look up to these people.
This is subjectively and objectively a 10/10 at least.

Awesome game.
My only complaint is that it gets very repetetive after like 2 rounds ("Hells"), but other than that, I loved exploring the newly unlocked weapons and combos always right on beat.
If you enjoy 100%-ing games, this has a lot of fun achievements, my favorite one was to finish a hell with one specific weapon (Paz).
But the part that I loved the most was the very end. I'm not gonna spoil it - you'll have to see for yourself! But the bossfight was genuinely the best one ive ever played through in any game ever - I was so concentrated on every movement, it was perfect!

if you already work with drawing softwares and are familiar with a recording software its incredibly easy to learn and set up! i only watched a 17 minute tutorial and in 5 minutes i already knew my way around the app.
You can make a simple 2 sprite avatar that just opens their mouth for funsies or you can go really in deph and animate physics for your drawing to bring it to life and also add expressions and outfits in the slots! so really, your creativity is the limit.
i would absolutely recommend this not just to streamers looking to add a fun element to their ui, but also to artists looking to play around with their ocs or D&D players to make their online campain more interesting. it may be small but really fun and easy and i can see it getting big in the future for how convenient it is. 10/10

i got this game for christmas last year and it was awesome because i really like horses and you can have horses in this game and ride them in seriously beautiful sceneries and you can also help npcs in town and be a good cowboy but then this a**hole f**king micah guy appears and does big naughty things and because in the game youre his friend it affects your reputation aswell so now im a bad cowboy and cant get to the area i need because theres the highest level bounty on me and i get shot instantly and the only way to get rid of it is to pay it off but im in debt and getting money in this game is pretty slow so it would ruin the enjoyment of the game for me

maybe someday ill reinstall the game and shoot micah in the head so he knows how it feels like but for now i give it a huge thumbs down because i hate him

i... i cant hold it in me anymore... I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!!!!!!! (in fact i love this game so much i learned some people know me just as "that cyberpunk fan" as i find myself getting pinged on discord everytime the game is mentioned)
i started playing close to release and i had such a blast even then!!! now its even more fun!!!! the combat can be soo flawless when you find your perfect build!! and dont even get me started on the story and characters! i spent countless of hours and nights overthinking the game's philosophy, lore and decisions. The characters feel so authentic, like real people, and it truly depends on you whether you end up loving them or hating them (yeah, some people in the game are real a**holes, but i cant help but admire their dedication and reasoning, this game has taught me that deep inside theres some good in everyone)
im just rambling at this point and i could ramble so much more but what im trying to say is THIS GAME IS AMAZING, THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT WORKED ON IT

Cyberpunk never fails to make me feel so many emotions at once leading to emptiness over time at their endings, and that was even twice as true for this DLC. please buy this i ran out of tissues and my nose is runny

Aloy is literally a slay queen girlboss. One of the strongest and most inspiring women in videogames ever. I mean, she literally slays.
The gameplay is what gets you hooked at the start and the story is what keeps you glued to your screen. You need to try out the game at some point its awesome

I knew this game existed for a while now, i came across it before and i fell in love with its colorful and fun artstyle, but unfortunately i never had a music ear, so i didnt get it, because i was too worried i'd just fail over and over.
Now that its in a sale for less price than a literal chocolate bar, i decided to get it just to try it - and oh my goodness gracious this game is genuinely FUN! and i dont suck at it! i am genuinely enjoying every minute! when i fail i have fun repeating the song just for that sweet S!
You mightve come across reviews where people complain about a lot of content being locked behind a DLC, and while that is true, I think the base game offers you enough fun and is still a steal even for full price.
I should probably mention that this game contains overly sexualized girls, especially in the character screen, which seemed like too much for me at some parts and made me slightly uncomfortable, but its not a huge deal

TLDR; get the game, atleast to try it, i think youll be pleasantly surprised :)
