User Feedback on the Public Test 01/10/2015

I gave The Talos Priciple Public Test a try because why not. I'm not usually playing puzzle games, so keep that in mind. I found the puzzles available to be quite good. Do-able. They weren't too hard, though the last one took me a little while. I really like the mechanics and how they work-- or rather you HAVE to make them work together.
Very calming soundtrack and scenery. Nice movement speed, easy to get to places. I'm intriqued to find out more about the story, as it seems to be quite interesting.

The game runs smooth on my laptop.

Specs:
Intel Core i7-3740QM CPU @2.70GHz
8,00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M

All in all, I had a good time playing through the Public Test, it was a rather short play-through but that is to be expected from a Demo so to speak. The game (as far as I can say) succeeds on what it is and is comparable to how Portal and Portal 2 as far as puzzle design is concerned (as in the difficulty is just right and the puzzles themselves are interesting. - You want to solve them).
Quality game.

Nice casual puzzle / platformer game for when you've got some spare time. It's got a cozy atmosphere, great soundtrack and the visuals were very pleasing to me, though I don't think the game in itself is in any way extraordinary. The game doesn't hold your hand in any magnificent way; there's no tutorial though there is hadly any need for one as the basic controlls are hidden throughout the map as you progress. It is worth a play-through but I'm uncertain whether or not it would actually have some replay value.

All in all; If you like little puzzle platformer games with a relaxing kind of feel to them then this game is worth a try for the price of $5, even more so when it is on sale.

Early Access Review
Starbound is a wonderful game. You are alone in space searching for a planet to call your home. Is there anyone else out there? The soundtrack does an amazing job on setting the atmosphere of this mysterious, lonely universe with all its strange creatures.

5/26/16
So after playing Starbound again after the combat and collony update I have to say that it's pretty much adressed all the issues I had with it previously (see "pre-combad update" part below). As it stands now I can recommend this game again, though I am still not fond of the fact that Starbound's now been in early access for about 3 YEARS.

For now, I recommend this game as an alternative to Terraria.

Pre-combat update
However... There isn't a whole lot to do yet as you progress and visit other planets other than building your base and exploring the planets. They have added a more story-like element over time....HOWEVER... Combat feels lack-luster still and the bosses aren't any better. Still Starbound shows promise, the game would certainly benefit from more spectacular bosses and actual gameplay updates.
There's no denying the fact that this game is very similar to Terraria.. HOWEVER (!!!) it's grey and lackluster standing in the ever-growing shadow of Terraria... *not to mention the upcoming Terraria Otherworld*
I would have loved to recomment this game, and I was convinced that I could at the time of my innitial review, ..hooowever... at the current state of this game, I cannot make myself recommend this game any longer. Not untill they finally release it with all the needed updates. Sure, Starbound is pretty, but it is all the more lacking in actual gameplay.

EDIT: Looks like there's a big combat update. I'll edit my review once I've given Starbound a few more hours.

I don't think I've ever been so consumed by a game than I have by Path of Exile. This is a great ARPG with fast-pased combat and lots and lots of variety in playstyles, not to mention the massive passive skill tree! The endgame is near to endless and the devs are constantly adding new exciting content! It's about gathering knowledge and effectively using that knowledge to your advantage! Great game, great dev team, who also listen to their consumers.

I think my playtime here speaks for itself.

2023 update; Yep. Still good.

Skyrim is a great game to get lost in, experience the world of Tamriel through any character you choose to be. Travel from town to town and experience how it feels to be the Dragonborn, or neglect being Dragonborn and make up your own story. That is especially enjoyable when you find a good set of mods from the workshop or nexus that fit for you.
Eitherway Skyrim's got lots of replay value on its own, not to mention the vast amount of mods there are for it in the workshop/nexus. The game was worth picking up on launch and now that it's as cheap as it is, there shouldn't be any doubt about wether it's worth getting or not given that you're into adventure RPG games. If you like RPG's and you like to experience a new world set in a more medieval, magical setting, this game is most certainly for you.

As for specs, Skyrim could pretty much run on a potato.

Very nice and atmospheric narration. This game is more than what you would expect from a platformer. It's very sweet.

Creavures is a great little platformer game with a bunch of neatly implemented mechanics. Work together with all the characters that you get to play as to progress; you will need all your companions. This game is worth picking up, especially when it is on sale, for when you have some spare time and just want to casually play a platformer / puzzle game and relax.

Whether you want to go full ghost or full assasin; you can do it in Dishonored! Maybe you'd like to do a bit of both; you can, too! It's one of my most favorite games I've ever played. Proper dark and steam-punky, the atmosphere is gorgeously gloomy and filthy. Combine your magical powers with your deadly weapons to kill or slip past unnoticed, following a good story, this game should have all you'd want in a stealth game.

Dec'2023; Decently re-played this game and its story DLC.. still holds up. Sure, I'm not a youngin' who grew up with mega epic graphics, but I still think this game holds up. My more "cool hip genZ" friends, or whatever, enjoyed it, too.

Will say that it's developed some technical issues of the game stuttering every now and then. I've never experienced this before now and have noticed some members of the community reporting the same issue. Not sure what that's about, or how to fix it, sadly.
