Can't help but agree that this is a great little time waster! Hugely addicting. You'll start getting the itch to play one more round to advance further than your last run. And before you know it, it's 2 hours later.

Good for at least 10-15 hours if you want to challenge the higher difficulties and find every single item in the Tome of Artifacts. Just like Binding of Isaac, you'll absolutely LIVE for those moments when your run includes two items that synergize with each other turning you into a self-healing critting machine.

Just be warned that some of the achievements could take many dozens of runs depending on your luck.

Abandoned with game breaking bugs. Was a very promising roguelike but with no update in 3 years, Black Forest Games has made it clear they have no plans on supporting their own games. Avoid.

Feels like the next natural progression in roguelike first person shooters. Much like Ziggurat, each floor is made up of randomly generated rooms that can either be full of enemies or the occasional treasure room with chests that can contain random weapons or/and scrolls that can give either positive or negative passive traits.

Taking a page from Tower of Guns, the passive traits can add up giving you multiple jumps in crazy low-gravity Mars gravity, running around like a speed demon. Controls are tight and there's a wide variety of guns that each have their own recoil and reload time. Lots of replayability to be found here.

A good thing too, because this game can be HARD in the beginning! Fortunately, the game also borrows from another favorite roguelike game of mine, Rogue Legacy. Upon death, you can spend the gold you've collected from your last run to upgrade your stats, increasing your health, attack, defense, or unlock other classes to play.

All in all, this game is very addicting and I can't wait to conquer the first pyramid. Highly recommended if you are fan of any of the above mentioned games.

Just no. There's some fun to be had here, but unforunately it's buried underneath a layer of sloppy mechanics that can ♥♥♥♥ you over, time and time again.

- Being stunlocked by enemies that spawn right next to you upon entering a screen is cheap, not "dark souls" difficulty.
- Losing equipment by choice or by accident because they disappear once you leave a room is a terrible game mechanic, not challenging.
- Losing all character progression and equipment upon death is a boring slog and repeitive, not rewarding game play.

There are much better designed games out there that are much more rewarding.
Only recommended for masochists with an empty Steam backlog.

And thus Awesomenauts goes out with a whimper, not even a proper sendoff by its developer.

Game is a buggy mess. I can't for the life of me figure out why this game still has a "very positive" rating on Steam. It has crashed at least a dozen times in the 20 some hours I've played. AVOID UNTIL GAME HAS BEEN PATCHED STABLE.
