Early Access Review
The Gist
This is probably one of the few $20 and under games I spent so much time on. First off to people considering this game know it's vanilla version (without mods and default settings) can be somewhat unforgiving. Meaning unlike other zombie games where a bite equals only damage, a bite in this (or even possibly a scratch, or a blood-borne infection from a scrape and such) can spell the end of your current character.

What Project Zomboid is
Having said that the game is a sandbox isometric survival simulator. You make your character (either through choices or randomization) and see how long you can survive. There's crafting, vehicles (with a robust mechanics system), obviously firearms and melee weapons, many skills to level up and different ways to maximize the acquisition and leveling up of said skills. Multiplayer with friends can be fun, and the modding community is as vast as you can expect.

Graphics Fidelity or Map Fidelity?
While people looking at the screenshots may be put off by the "Sims 1" quality of graphics fidelity, temper it with the idea of how large the map is. If you were to look at this map understand that every building is capable of being entered and looted. The amount of detail put into the mechanics is staggering.

In Closing
Just be prepared to possibly end up watching a Ton of YouTube videos, Reddit posts, etc on understanding said mechanics of the game.

Note: This is an edited review

Previous issues: I had issues joining a server my friends, some of which paid to get early access, which put a hamper on playing with anybody I know.

The servers seem to rotate quickly, in fact after logging on today I found all but one server allowed me in. The game was fun and gave me Diablo III feels while also having interesting MMO trappings. So as promised I edited my review to a more favorable one. Hopefully this will help some people like me who were unaware of how the server situation ebbs and flows.

The best Star Wars Game. Loved this game as a child and love the turn based combat. Amazing RPG.

Great for Dungeon Masters who like to roll randomally. This pack contains 100's of tables and the ability to forge magic weapons. Plus don't forget the full Dungeon Master's Guide in reference form. In my opinion 5e really hit it out of the park with their core books in terms of pure content. If you have the ability to get all three books and Fantasy Grounds (a $190 minimum) this is worth it to hit the ground running in your creation of adventures.

This, next to the Core Class Pack, is the most required for Dungeon Masters. While some (if not all) pre-made adventure DLCs will offer a bestiary, this will give you a plethora of creatures, monsters, and other denizens of Dungeons & Dragons many planes of existence.

For people who want to make characters, or Dungeon Master's who want their clients to have everything, this is what you need to make your D&D 5e character. Considering the vast array of sub-races, and classes having a 'path' choice, the amount of material in this is staggering, and well worth the price tag. Think of it as the Player's Handbook in Database, and Wikipedia format.

This is the best virtual tabletop software bar none. Every thing you could think of in terms of tools needed for DMs this suite has it all. It supports many systems aside from Dungeons & Dragons, and if you are a D&D 5e fan, virtually every product offered by WotC is offered here, with easy click and drag capibilities and easily referencable rules and material. If you have a group stranded across the country/world and want to play, this program is well worth the price.
