Awesome game with a really good story and characters you will grow to genuinely care about. The cast is very good, with a lot of familiar voices.

I was gifted a copy of this game but I happily would have paid full price for it. The backdrop is really interesting, if you like dystopian settings, and the story and characters are engaging. Also, I'm going to come out and say it, it's wonderful to have a really good female protagonist, where the gender of the player character *isn't* a specific plot point.

The combat can be frustrating at first, but after a while it just sort of clicks and you find yourself chaining devastating blows together while gracefully dodging enemy attacks in a way that would make River Tam proud. The fact you can customise your combos is another nice touch. I personally went for a quick 3-hit pure damage one, then a 5-hit combo that did hundreds of damage thanks to the multipliers you can use, then the two longer ones were for regen. I found you end up using your enemies to your advantage more than just hammering them into submission.

Great game.

This game has hands down one of the most gripping, well acted stories I've ever played through. The gameplay is fun, but can get a little repetitive, especially as there's little variation between the appearance and voices of enemies - you will get tired of continuingly killing Finch from The Office (UK)!

However, if you stick with it, the story makes it all worthwhile. It's not that long, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, as it just makes it feel more cinematic.

A fantastic little indie title, I'd be hesitant to call it a strategy game, but more of an action strategy. I struggled at first, before I realised I was unconsciously adopting turtling tactics, which really don't work here. Of course, the clue's in the name, you have to push for territory from the start, which makes it a heavily action packed game. The campaign keeps you on your toes, by throwing the occasional pursuit map in, along with a couple of tower defence scenarios that are executed very well.

The only real downside is the occasional quality issue, such as characters' dialogue sometimes being cut off, and the tech tree has one entry which incorrectly describes what it does.

For me, it's most reminiscent of Sins of a Solar Empire, in terms of style and I'm sure fans of that franchise would find it as enjoyable as I did.

All in all, it's an excellent game and I certainly hope there's a sequel!

P.S. Bonus points for quoting Serenity. :D
