10/10 realistic battle simulation, a master longbowman armed with bodkin arrows and a 2-handed broadsword died to a 60-year-old hobo with throwing rocks.
BUT WAIT -- I leveled up my Tactics skill!!1!

As long as you click the "Attack" and not "Send troops" option for a battle, this game is actually amazing.
You begin as one of probably millions of lowly peasants who have had their family slaughtered by raiders. But, because you are the Main Character, you can hire villagers to loyally fight and die for you! Now you can send them after the raiders and watch them rip a horseman right out of his saddle with a farming hoe.

After beating up countless gangs of aforementioned hobos and bandits, your villagers acquire enough combat experience to materialize golden armor and steel weapons, and kings all across the continent offer you gifts for your allegiance! You can now besiege castles in their name, watching countless elite soldiers die instantly because you forgot to destroy the enemy's Fire Catapult before you attacked.

But wait, the king declared a new law that makes you pay 20% of your fief revenue as taxes?? Empty the garrison of your fiefs, leave the kingdom, then declare war and steal them back! Now you have your own kingdom, and with some (very) hefty bribes, you can convince enemy lords to leave the massive empire dominating a fifth of the continent and accept one of your kingdom's two castles!
If they refuse to join you and keep looting your villages, chop their head off and earn a game badge doing it. Before you know it, you'll conquer the whole continent, and be very happy that you purchased this game!

TL;DR: Buy Bannerlord and sic 200 crossbowmen on a fleeing looter.
