"This plucky gang of Squid/Octo kids were doing just fine in that second wave on their Salmon run when the regular School of Salmonids are seemingly absent for the third and final wave. It was then when the chums and cohocks started raising from the waterfronts weilding Chargers and Ink-Muskets, their coordinations and relentless advances of precision and accuracy were devastating to this crew, even a 10-man crew couldn’t fight them well-trained salmonids back with their own weapons! Soon, they were all rounded up, disarmed, and removed of their life preservers. Now faced infront of a firing squad, the ones not already splatted begin to question what happened back there in the water, and prey for mercy.

“This territory belongs to my ancestors and their spawn, for this is the Spawning Grounds of my lineage, my Dyansty!” The Goldie triumphantly bellows out, standing atop the boxes to watch this little execution go without a hitch. Her second-in-command Steelhead clad in Gold stands behind the executees with content feelings. “For your kind has entered onto my grounds without express and explicit forth-warning, we have a way we deal with Trespassers, and it’ll teach your corrupt boss NOT to meddle with Salmonid’s Affairs, for i am Aurum-San, Queen Privateer of all of my local School, and maybe thensome! We haven't reached into our renaissance for no reason, we must ADVANCE and EVOLVE FURTHER than we’d truly imagine!” She says, raising her golden Frying pan, at the ready to signal the Execution Squad to commence their pulling of the triggers at the drop of her divine pan!

I had this idea floating in my head for a long while now, and i had taken inspiration from Francisco de Goya’s painting, “El Tres de Mayo”. Splatoon’s sunken scrolls often at times parody real life paintings and i wanted to contribute something to that trend, but with a more dark and grim twist considering “El Tres de Mayo” is basically detailing how Spanish Civilians were brutalized by the French during the Napoleonic Wars.

If anything i kinda like this dark gritty impending-doom type feel to this 3D scene thanks to that painting and even if it’s unironically Edgy or something like that, I don’t mind it, i like the emotional value to it. Took me all morning to make this after a little tinkering with models in Garry’s Mod. Replacing materials is pretty satisfying when you get a desired result. I just wish i can direct where specular maps canngo on where on models so i’ll have better results in the numerous stout shakos i used for this scene, wish i can map golden cubemaps to their buttons so they’ll be all shiny and polished like Aurum-San’s hat and Golden Pan respectively. But im just a guy whom makes stuff with the tools im given and I cannot be bothered to fix that issue myself unless i know how to do it."
