Ultimate Chaos-Sub Mod - AI Booster

Description

ULTIMATE CHAOS MOD-MOD
This mod is designed as a plugin for Ultimate Chaos. It will not function without it. You can subscribe to it below.

VERSION 2.3 OF ULTIMATE CHAOS RELEASED!
The next update for Ultimate Chaos is now out adding a round of bug-fixes, balance changes and new features including Chaos Sorcerors for all the gods!

Ultimate Chaos and it's sub mods are now updated for the Norsca DLC, with a update utilising the new Norsca stuff coming in the next few weeks.
I’ve explained and talked a bit about these new additions in a new video on my You Tube channel which you can check out below!
Enjoy and please consider supporting me!

This mod changes the AI in the campaign game.
It's designed for when you are playing AS Warriors of Chaos (or Hordes of Chaos if your playing the CO-OP version)

This AI mod does not function well at all if you play as a non-horde race.

The AI is very tricky to get it to act how you want but basically what this mod does is the AI will come and get you.. relentlessly.
It doesn’t build huge armies or get massive bonuses, instead it calculates threat levels in a different way so what it will do is engage your hordes in the open fields instead of constantly running away because it isn't powerful enough to face you (i.e it doesn’t outnumber you 4-1). If you actually fight the battles and don't auto resolve everything (the auto-resolve in the vanilla game is broken and can't be fixed by modding) they will wear you down with sheer attrition and weight of numbers, even if it's just swordsmen! (Playing on V. Hard I was forced to retreat from Kislev on turn 30 after my 20 stack Slaanesh army of decent units was pushed back by legions of Swordsmen and crossbowmen!)

This mod is a WIP and comments and suggestions are welcome!

This mod wouldn't have been possible without some of the other great AI mods out there by the mod developers below which were used for reference.

If you like my work and appreciate all the time that’s gone into it please consider supporting me so I can continue insisting to my wife that I don't need a real job and can continue making Total Warhammer content instead of doing boring stuff for money.
Thank you!

Q: What difficulty setting do you recommend for a good campaign?
A: Very hard/Legendary. That's what this is tested at. If playing as Co-op with Ultimate Chaos Coop I strongly recommend splitting up to increase the challenge. Also better enjoy Lightning Strike while you can because I'm taking it out completely when I get the time!

Q: Why is this being released separately from Ultimate Chaos?
This mod-mod is being released separately from Ultimate Chaos because not all players will want the AI behaviours set for them. Some will want to use their own, or no AI mods.
Players all have different abilities, some like it almost impossibly hard (me) others like it to be a breeze. This way you can taylor the game the way you want to play it instead of being forced to have one type of AI.

Whenever I'd lose (and sometimes win, against impossible odds), we'd split apart for maybe two turns, and then miraculously the same armies would return with full fresh stacks.

Towards the end just now before my game decided to crash itself just as I'd won (another phyrric victory), I had several consecutive Valiant Defeats and Phyrric Victories where I'd shift back and forth between my two hordes vs 4 dwarven armies, in each one I'd have maybe 1000-1500 men, and the enemy up towards 4000-6000, and each time we'd both nearly completely deplete one another.

Zero progress was made, the enemy leaves no opening, and I'm almost completely convinced that it's cheating with how willy nilly it's able to conjure up massive armies out of thin air.

The actual 'difficulty' added by this is just the AI tweaked to literally spam and replentish multiple stacks of units perpetually forever.

I got stuck in a slog with Kiev and the dwarves almost immediately.
At first it was alright, because overall your chaos units are stronger, but after a while they began to spam really tedious and hard to counter crap like Pistolliers, crossbowmen and other cheap low tier skirmish units.

Eventually I got into ridiculous 1v4 full stack battles with up towards 40 ranged units per battle, and each time it'd devolve into a merry go round across the map to catch up to them, as there are simply too many for mounted units to handle.

(That harder version I was talking about is now released as AI Booster II!)

Thanks, i have a harder version back here deisgned for coop, but it could also double up as a harder experience for single player also for those that find this too easy.

I didnt know that was even possible, I will seriously consider trying that when i finally get my three hord earmy established. Also thanks for replying so quickly, apart from my difficulties the mod is bloody great.

Well, if you like an easier ride, this mod is toggleable on and off, so you can start with it off... and when feeling badass turn it on half way through your campaign.

Tried on hard = lost. Tried on Normal = got further but lost. My lord I dont feel like a world ending Chaos horde anymore but a fly about to be swatted by the combined armies of the old world.

the Miscast thing is a bug that is fixed in the next update that should roll out shortly.
