By Purely Wok
DISCLAIMER

This is an early access version of the actual guide. This is a demo. For now, the first four sections have been released to the public. The rest of the sections will officially be released in the near-future. Be sure to rate up and favorite. Thanks! Constructive comments are highly welcome.

This Guide > Steam's Formatting Help

Contrary to Steam's formatting help, this guide explains the purposes of each format, and when to use each format, unlike steam's formatting help. This guide also gives a step by step tutorial, which Steam also doesn't.

Whatever Steam does for formatting help, this guide does it as well but adds more to it.
Unlike Steam formatting help, this guide actually teaches you:

•How To Format Text (Step-By-Step)
•When You Should Format Text
•What Text Formatting Is
•Why You Should Format Text

Guide Description

•Underlined Text

This is all that is covered in the "basic" version of Steam text formatting.

What Is A Text Format? Why Should You Use Text Formats?
Make sure you have read the Guide Description first before continuing.

What Is A Text Format?

Steam has a feature that allows us to format text. Text formats are markup tags that are similar to HTML. These markup tags allow you to format your text in any of your post (threads, guides, showcases, etc...), and can also be used in any of your comments.

Why Should I Use Text Formats?

These markup tags are definitely helpful whenever you're writing ANYTHING. The text format feature helps A LOT with making your point clearer (hyperlinks, underlined and bold text, etc...). Text formats can also help you express what you really think instead of what you said (spoiler text, strikthrough text). And overall, text formatting just makes whatever you're writing look nicer and more organized.

Basic Text Formatting includes:

•Header Text
•Underlined Text
•Bold Text
•URL Formatting
•Spoiler Text
•Strikethrough Text
•Italic Text
•NoParse Text

This guide will be taking an in-depth look at each of these text-formats.
URL Formatting And When To Use It
URL Formatting

With URL Formatting, you can create hyperlinks! You can label your URL links with your own highlighted words, meanwhile, whenever somebody clicks on your label/highlighted words, it redirects them to the site with that URL link. Formatted URLs appear as white color text.

Use this whenever you need to name/describe the website of the given URL in any post (thread, guide, showcase) or comment.

Correct Template: " Type whatever you want here "

Steps To Format URLs:

1. Type ""
2. Space
3. Type whatever you want here
4. Space
5. Type ""

Header Text And When To Use It
Header text

Header text has a big font and a blue color. Header Text is used as "dividers" to large amounts of text. Header Text are basically "titles/headings".

Use this whenever you have to divide large amounts of text by titling/describing a certain section of text with a word or phrase.

Correct Template: "
Type Whatever You Want Here
"

Steps To Format Header Text:

1. Type "
"
2. Space
3. Type whatever you want here
4. Space
5. Type "
"

Example Of Header Text
Underlined Text And When To Use It
Underlined text is text that has a line underneath it. Underlined text emphasizes the importance of a key sentence, phrase, or word. Underlined text helps grab the attention of the viewer so they can read what you NEED them to read!

Use this for whenever you need to exaggerate the importance of a key piece of text in your post or comment. Basically, use it whenever you need someone to read a certain a part of your text.

Correct Template: " Type whatever you want here "

Steps To Format Underline Text:

1. Type " "
2. Space
3. Type whatever you want here
4. Space
5. Type ""

Woah, this was a surprise.

All in all, I was just trying to give a more in-depth look at steam text formatting wth a step-by step processes, when to use it, explanations, etc...

I basically left this project after I lost the will to do it, mostly from lack of time and partially from redundant hate comments.

Thanks for checking it out I guess, but this project is scrapped.
