Legions of Rome: Native Rebels (Beta)

For WRE and ERE: rebellions now consist of barbarian rebels or weak Roman armies when appropriate. This is an add-on mod to Legions of Rome, but should also work independantly.

I was fed up in my WRE campaigns of fighting against rebel armies of Roman units several tiers higher than my own armies, with loads of heavy onagers. The idea behind this mod is that public order rebellions should represent dissatisfied locals, officials, and garrison troops forming weak regional armies - i.e. quantity over quality. Separatist movements on the other hand are unchanged from vanilla, and represent factional splintering (parts of your standing army defecting).The mod will mainly affect WRE and ERE gameplay.



(1) African rebellions now spawn desert units

(2) Brittanic rebellions now spawn celtic units

(3) Hispanic and Gallic rebellions are now barbarian

(4) Regions that were Hellenic or almost totally Romanised (Illyria, Egypt, Macedonia etc) spawn weaker Roman armies with basic legionary troops only.

(5) Capped unit tier in rebel armies (no more elite units)

(6) Onagers removed from all rebel armies


This mod is in BETA and I will update as I play through more campaigns with it.
