Star Wars RP
Introduction
Star wars roleplay is a gamemode within gmod, based on Star wars, most servers cover the Clone wars or the Empire, In this guide i will explain all of these and more attempting to teach you how to play SWRP while not look like a idiot on the server you play.

Star wars roleplay is a SeriousRP which means no shooting that random guy down the hall.
People are VERY strict on rules so if you get yelled at, it should be no shock.
Basics
IC = In character
OOC = Out Of Character

Faces is mandotray to learn inorder to pass training/tryouts and must be learned inside and out.

Left face = 90 Degrees to the left
Right face = 90 Degrees to the right
About face = 180 Degrees over your right (Basically two right faces)
Front face/Forward Face = Face your Commanding officer (The person testing/training you)

Formations are used in battle/marching and again must be learned to pass training/tryouts

Ranking Order = Stand in the order of ranks, highest at the front, lowest at the back

Single Coulmn = Stand in a line behind the Commanding officer
Double Coulmn = Two Coulmns behind the Commanding officer with enough space for him/her to walk pass it
Tight Wedge = Like a Single Coulmn but you have roughly 50% of your model on the Commander's back
Loose/Wide Wedge = Like Tight wedge but with enough space for a Commander to walk though each person
Firing Line = Stand on the left or right of the Commanding officer with your weapon out
Firing Squad = Crouch infront of your Commander/other troopers with your weapon out
VIP Diamond (Non Hostile) = Stand around the VIP in a Diamond shape (Not a box) facing outwards
VIP Diamond (Hostile) = Same as VIP but with your weapons out
Prisoner Diamond = Face at the Prisoner with your weapons out and search the target
Box = Stand in a Box shape around the Commander and depending on server face where the Commander is facing (If he is facing a wall, face the same wall)
Breach = Go to the target Door, stand on one side of the door and when the Commander says "Breach!" Go in and secure the side you are on (If you were on the left side of the door you'd secure the left side)

There are differen't types of ways to talk to people and here are them all
// = OOC, this means you are not roleplaying and thus are not intitled to do anything IC
/looc Some servers have this but its a Local verison of OOC, is where not everyone can here you
/advert This is what is used when trying to talk to everyone IC
/pm (Name) This is where you only want to talk to one person in a group or they are far away
/me This is acting so you'd act it out and not say it like you normally would (/me Grabs the man)

There are rules that people will go by and if you break them you will be either retrained/kicked/banned
Dont RDM (Dont kill random people without a reason, this is also the Golden rule)
Do not Minge (Do not act silly/OOC while you are meant to be IC)
Do not failrp (Sitting on people's heads, having a stupid name)
Do not Meta game (Taking OOC Infomation and using it IC)

Binds

Binds are commands that are started when you press/hold a button (Like the wasd keys)

This is the basic binds Command you should be using in a SWRP server
binds (key) "say (Message)"

Binds can be used to speed up when you try to do things in the game, I will be showing which binds are used and when to use them

bind (key) "say /me Salutes" = This is a Salute bind, you used this most often when 2LT+ go by you

bind (key) "say /me Searches for weapons/comms and takes them" = This is a search bind for the Prisoner diamond, you use this to take weapons off surrendered enemies

These are the most used binds, some servers might have ID binds or if you want to be fancy you can do one yourself with this format

Bind (key) "say /me [Name:] [Rank:] [Regiment:] [Clearance:] [IDN:]"

(IDN = The numbers in your name) (Clearance = The max level you are permitted to go to)

Other servers might have more binds but right now this is most all what you will be using

High ranking Binds

bind (key) "say /advert Granted" = Say this at a high rank when granting someone
Bind (key) "say /advert Denied" = Say this at a high rank when denying someone
bind (key) "say At ease trooper" = Say this again at a high rank when someone salutes you

Ranks

Ranks are how all SWRP servers use to figure out who is higher then the other.
This is how most servers set up the ranks (Lowest at the top and highest at the bottom)

Cadet
Private
Private First Class
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant
2nd LT
1st LT
Captain
Major
Commander

You get promoted by doing well in Events and proving yourself to your Commander/fleet that you are able to Command troopers and make them listen to you and that you aren't going to mess up doing it

Regiments

List of regiments (Clone wars)

501st Legion = Attack Regiment
212th = Attack Regiment

Fleet Secruity = VIP Protection
187th Legion = Support/Attack
41st = Scouts

Advanced Recon Commando's = Attack/scout
Clone trooper Pilots = Pilots
Fleet = Command
Jedi = Special

List of regiments (Empire)

Storm troopers = Starting regiment
Scout troopers = Scout
Flame troopers = assault
501st Legion = Attack
Shadow Troopers = Stealth
Tie Pilots = Pilots
Royal Guards = VIP Protection
Shock Troopers = MPs
Imperial Commando's = Specialist
Fleet = Command
Sith = Special
Tryouts
Tryouts are how regiments get troopers into it, it is just basic training and isn't too hard to do if you are aiming for a normal regiment

Often tryouts will go like this

Faces
Formations
Fire practice
Questions
Accepting who goes in
Whitelisting

This doesn't seem so hard but some Commanders in some regiments (ARC and RC) Will be brutal in how they do this.

Commanders will often have Strikes in tryouts, these are the amount of chances you have untill you are kicked out, if you get a strike, it might deside if you get into a regiment or not
Events
Events are things that may happen in or off ship like say some droids attack the ship and attempt to kill the fleet

There are different types of events called plantaries, they are often the biggest and have the biggest rewards for doing well

I will go though some events that might happen

Droids/Bounty hunters evade the ship and kidnap the fleet

Assassins attack the ship attempting to take down the ship

Fake troopers will enter the ship and attempt to kill all aboard

Sith/Jedi attack the ship with Droids/Rebellion troopers

A sith/Jedi sense a Jedi/sith on a different planet and we must go there to kill/capture it

Droids/Rebels come onto the ship and steal some infomation and we need to go find them and get it back

Everyone goes to a planet to take a important place on that planet

Not trying to advertise anything here but the FrostByte Imperial RP server doesn't use any of the training things, or at least I didn't have to do formations or even be asked about faces. The officer just walked me through a practical induction and asked about my character, showed me the unique features and gave me my armour and then let me choose which part of the army or government I wanted to join.

Clone Wars sucks Enigmatic.

Not trying to advertise anything here but the Defcon Gaming Clone Wars RP server doesn't use any of the training things, or at least I didn't go through that. The guy just walked me through the rules, showed me the map and then got me into a Clone Trooper.

Not doing a star wars rp server but planning to setup a StarWars DarkRP server so it's not just waiting around all day for tryouts and then waiting more
