Key Elements to lights (including Dima's tips) :
Update: according to a reader, light tanks are built for brawling and are amazing at yoloing... Please disregard all content of my guide.

Prologue:
So, lights have weak guns and paper-thin armour; most players have had bad experiences of this first-hand, and most new players ditch them to go for the heavies. This is true for me after my encounter with the MT-25 - as a new player back then, I saw the thing as a pile of scrap (and it pretty much still is). However, I persisted with learning light tank strategy, taking in the information supplemented to me via guides on youtube and the WoT blitz forum, and I recommend that the readers of this guide do the same.

However, returning to lights, the keys to these fast little buggers are:

To abuse your speed while not running into the line of fire. This, my friends, would be called NOT YOLOING! (I see so many people ignore this commonly overstated tip!)

To keep people spotted; proximity-spot or simply using your often comparatively massive view range.

Treat a hit like a death, this helps to maintain a mindset of preservation which you REALLY need for this kind of tank. (You can still keep this mindset even for the armoured lights, the T-54 lightweight and the LTTB)

Dima's tip time:

Go for as much bias as possible! Even if it means selling your soul to the devil to get past the awful MT-25, DO IT!

NEVER attack a heavy or even a small group of meds frontally, BLIN, even if your C Y K A comrades got into trouble! Even ♥♥♥♥♥ bias won't help you with this if you do it!

If your urod comrades have gone to babushka's holy vegetable patch, use Stalin's gift of many speeds to get you as far away from the capitalists as possible and capture the bases to change those kurwas' minds!

Finally, use the gun that the semechki-eaters in the plant gave you in the end game! if there are max. 2 enemies left, use your slavic speed and beat the B L Y A T out of the cykas' sides! That will give them a very lethal dose of communism!

Conclusion: NOOBS DO NOT PLAY THIS TYPE OF TANK BEFORE YOU HAVE READ THIS OR OTHER GUIDES FFS I'M TIRED OF ALL OF YOU YOLOING AND DYING IN THIS FIRST MINUTE!

Meds aren't for brawling and trading, that's what heavies do. They are for shooting their guns over and over and avoiding return fire either by playing hulldown or shooting people not looking at them. Lights are just faster meds in this regard.

170mm is average for mediums and lights, and the AMX 13 90 has the ability, especially towards the end of the game, to just drive to someone's side, clip out, then drive off, doing 880 burst.

But, if you want, i'll edit the guide specifically to your opinion. (even though the lights aren't built for brawling or trading)

For lights, hypothetical dpm is amazing, but ACTUAL effective dpm is utter sh!te because they have crap pen! The AMX 13 90 has 170mm of pen for god's sake! And because of this, you have to use a good part of your *tiny* shell storage for prammo. This lowers your DPM even more.

I've played all of the light lines to tier 8 and the only line that is anywhere near what you've described is the American line, which has the worst gun handling on a mobile platform (except the chaffee, which is a laser)

You mean the 3-shot burst-you-down french lights and the DPM-you-to-death RU 251? The Lightweight gets a better turret and more DPM than the T-44 on top of having far more mobility.

??? What are you referencing here? Have you seen the guns on the French lights, SP1C, RU-251 and the MT-25? They have crap pen, and their guns are comparatively weaker than the meds; Take the lightweight, for example. Same pen, same dispersion as the T-44, but worse rate of fire... I'm not so certain that you're correct...

Lights in blitz are faster meds with better guns. Not sure what you're talking about. You trade armor for DPM and mobility
