maybe you can add a help command that tells players what they can do in it? I'm curious what it's capable of.

But I will see whether it might be useful to players. I can keep it in if it's worthwhile.

I expose my ignorance :) It's something built into the engine which I have not disabled yet.

In-game consoles can help developers debug their game, some players (like me) enjoy messing with the console.

Yes, that kind of console. I noticed there is a console-like thing if you hit TAB in-game, so I asked about it. But a console is a great idea in any game.

Okay, so streamlining this game is going to be my next big undertaking. This is exactly the kind of feedback I need.

Solar Engines are engaged when you are near a star, and you right click on a planet, and select "orbit planet." Otherwise, you can manually move about with WASD and ARROW keys. You can also switch to mouse control by hitting the space bar. This allows you to control the ships direction without the ARROW keys.

So a console, like where you would type in commands? Are you thinking of this being an in-game feature, like a way to control the ship? Or more of a way to control the game itself, like changing variables, FIeld of View, and such?

also, how do I manually engage solar engines?

If you hit TAB, a console appears. That's what I'm talking about.

There is a Options>Controls Menu that shows all the commands in-game. Unless I misunderstood your comment.
