What is Barbecue & Chili
Barbecue & Chili
A deep bond with The Entity IconHelp entity.png unlocks potential in one's Aura reading ability. After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras IconHelp auras.png are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are further than 52/46/40 meters from the Hook IconHelpLoading hook.png.

Grants 100% Bonus Bloodpoints on any scoring event while a Survivor is on the Hook.
"I just can't take no pleasure in killing. There's just some things you gotta do. Don't mean you have to like it." — Drayton Sawyer

When a killer with Barbecue & Chili hooks a survivor all other survivors' auras are visable for a few seconds if they are outside of the 52/46/40 meters depending on the tier of the perk. The killer will then see a red aura through the map similar to Bitter Murmur. This is dangerous because killers with this perk can hook and book, then get into another legitamate chase in seconds.
How do I know if a killer has Barbecue & Chili?
Killers with B&C generally do a 360 after hooking a survivor to gain as much intel from the perk as possible before the auras disappear. This is a dead giveaway. You can also assume that they have it if the killer heads directly to another survivor.
How do I counter B&C
The counter to this perk is to hide behind a generator. You must sit behind it in a direct line to the hook. The killer can see the aura of generators unless they are activated. You want to use the aura of a non-activated generator to mask your's as the killer cannot see through the aura of the generator.

This is a hard counter to the perk B&C and will give the killer false information, as he will assume that survivors are within the 52/46/40 meter circle that does not display auras.

Countering this perk means effectively disabling a perk that enable killers to become much more deadly. This counter will also increase your survivability as a survivor exponentially.

@SpookyPuppy It works while working on it, but it is better to crouch (you'll duck lower) and you are able to freely position yourself.

Does this work if you're working on the gen? Or only if you're crouched behind it (at the right angle of course)?

@papaDopoulus If they camp, the rest of the team can rush generators. The killer must decide how much he is willing to give up for a single kill.

yeah great job and if they dont see the auras the gonna camp than cause they think survivors are near to hook, good job Autor ! thats what the perk is made for sucha genius

@hellkevin97 This is not abusing an sort of coding, bug, or mechanic. It is simply a guide to inform people of a new tactic.

lol @hellkevin you know what every perk needs a counter. its no exploit. Using bbq AND the perk that makes downed survivors invisible where you cant get closer to team mate to avoid the perk makes the perk WAY too strong. Billys and Nurses should not even be allowed to use this perk. If anything itll be nerfed.

I think it is an exploit and will be fixed in the next patches. But for now is a valid counter:sans:

@PARALYSIS This is not a cheat. It is a tactic that you can employ if you think the killer is running B&C based on his mannerisms.

nice cheat. -.-

ah, well that is a strong counter, will be interested to see if it is too strong in the future.
