Introduction
Hey everyone,

I've created this guide to help address some game issues for the beta. We'll go over the information we have to hopefully get you into the game and to avoid errors. As for the guide contents, while I came up with quite a few possible fixes, not all of the following fixes were found by me, Sledgehammer and helpful users have played a huge role in that, so thank them as well!

----- Feedback -----
Here is the current places to send in your feedback! Of course, you may make a discussion in the forums, but if you would like to send your feedback to the official thread (annoucement) made by Sledge, then please see here.

You may also take this beta survey.

Issues At Hand
Now that's out of the way, let's get down it. Here is a list of all of the common issues that you, as the community are experiencing. Please keep in mind, that there isn't a guaranteed fix for anything, but rather imporant information I've come across.

1. Crashing
It seems that the crashing has mainly been occurring for Windows 7 users. Many have reported this Windows update as a solution to this specific problem. You may download it here.[download.microsoft.com] It'll then begin to download from your browser.

2. Connection Issues
There isn't a solid fix for this one, but I'd recommend doing the following.
Restart your modem / router. Make sure the game isn't blocked via Windows Firewall. Also check any anti-virus programs. Switch between wireless and wired connection (if possible)

3 Stuttering
The most common source of this issue is users not having enough RAM. The game requires a mininum of 8GBs. Many of you are trying to play the game on ultra settings with only 8GBs of RAM. You'll have memory leaks which leads to stuttering. Simply lower the settings in-game.

You may also find if you're trying to run the game at higher fps that you're getting stuttering -- simply beause your system can't output that high of FPS. Try limiting it to 60fps, and it it's flawless, then move it up before it starts to stutter again. Limit your FPS and your refresh rate in the settings page; the fps and refresh rate should match each other. If none of that doesn't work, you're most likely not within the minimum specs listed below.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
Processor: Intel Core i3-3225 @ 3.30GHz or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 25 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

4. CoD: WWII Not Responding
Go into your beta folder and right click on s2mp64_ship > properties > compatibility tab > disable DPI scling (or set scaling to application). Thanks to a fellow user.

5. Error Code 5
Awaiting response from Activision

6. Error code: 98398 -,B,C,D,E,-,G,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,P,Q
Awaiting response from Activision. Most likely caused due to a connection interference, I'd recommend step 2 in the mean time.

7. Restart Required
Try clearing your download cache by doing the following - Steam (top left) > settings > Download Tab > Clear Download Cache > It'll delete any active download in progress, finish any download before doing so for your convenience.

If that doesn't work, make a copy of these two files to a safe location, and then delete them. This error happened in Infinite Warfare, deleting the below files resolved it then; one would hope it'll do the same here.

toc0.dcache
toc1.dcache

Addtional Steps
Here is a list of just basic trouble-shooting steps that might help you with whatever issue you may be encountering.

If no avail, please hit up ATVI Assist through the following options.

Conclusion
Unfortunately, if none of the following tips didn't get your game running, I'm afraid there isn't much I can do. I'll be updating this through the duration of the beta. If you have a fix that you believe should be on this guide, please send me a message on Twitter . I'm currently over loaded with friend requests here on Steam and the likely hood for me to get back to you is higher if you use Twitter.

Thank you,

Stay frosty,

- Captain Price

Hacking is not hard. The fact that you can play a game and it not have a lot of hackers means the publishers are doing something. The fact that this is a free open beta means of course there will be hackers. It's a free game right now. Why are people actually surprised about hackers being in a beta?
