Halo Covenant Species - 2.0+ Patch

Description
Shortest possible summary: I wanted to have the awesomely designed Halo species in my game, and there's a species mod that adds multiple of them for Stellaris.
>>> Here <<<

However, it is not usable with the latest version of the game, because the way traits work changed.
I could wait for the species author to make a patch themselves... But they haven't been online in over a year two three years now so I took it into my own hands.

///////////////////////////////////////
I disabled spawning for the species types. The OP made species names and a phenotype setup, but never chose to allow generation.

I enabled it in the mod for a bit, and it does work! However the names are often random, so you got Prophets called 'Sangheili'.
I found that fact annoying, so I'm temporarily removing the random spawning until the next major version where I continue the mod myself and hopefully fix the misaligned names if possible. If I can't fix it, I may allow Covenant to spawn anyway if the graphics are good enough.
//////////////////////////////////////

None of the graphics are in this patch, so you need the original mod. It also means I didn't rip their content off.

The Covenant are biological life, so they use biological traits.

Last Minor update 17th February 2019:
  • Disabled random spawning of Covenant species for now. Feel free to make spawning custom empires.
  • Whatever tiny fixes and changes I made since 2018 and left in the files until now.

    Last Major update 8th March 2018:
    Since a few hundred people need this mod, I have decided to not only patch it but continue it.
  • Better English localising.
  • Random fixes.
  • Tiny additions like 'worting' referred to in diplomacy added.
  • New skins, phenotypes and appearances.
  • Huragok are now larger.
  • Elites now have humanoid voices, not molluscoid.
  • Wider pop/civilian variety.
  • Changes to leaders, e.g. in the all-in-one set, jackal kig-yar can now be admirals but aren't as common leaders as elites.

    I have decided when I get time to just take the files from the mod because it would save load order space and an increasing amount is getting broken.
    Most of the graphics can be traced from Google anyway, and I can edit, so I should hopefully minimise plagiarism.

    Also I'm hopefully making a mod which will have cities and shipskins for all major Halo races.

Some of my mods were resisting being updated in the launcher, might be due to being quite old. I apologise. You might have to use a different mod for a couple games and check for updates later.

I want to revive this as a way better mod but no idea when that'll be.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I'll keep it version updated for the foreseeable future.
Still want to revive it and make it better but I've been wrestling with how to make it worth using, and how it'll play with 'Sins of the Prophets'.

Keep it up! I'd love to see this still going when 2.6 drops! :D

Well that's good, there's still a few comment that say they got it though.

I'm confused what it might be but glad it fixed itself for you.

I reinstalled both mods a few days ago and now is working for some reason. Works for me I guess

Don't know then. Probably won't get fixed in the near future, so maybe in the next mod version.

Genuinely can't see a reason that bug would start if the game hasn't been updated, and I don't have the old files.
When I figure out how to implement the next version that should be fine.

I really want to use this mod but the portraits are invisible,,,

Weird to get two identical bugs reported when the mod hasn't changed.

They show fine in my game, but I believe you, I'll ask some Steam friends to test it too. I want to republish this asap anyway so it's not too bad.
