How to Build Roads
  • Research the appropriate technology in the research menu.
  • Send a caravan to the world map.
  • Select the caravan.
  • Click the build roads button.
  • Select the path of your road's blueprints.
(Note: Dirt roads require no resources to construct, however, other roads require resources for the blueprints. Check the resources required by clicking on them.)
(Tip: The more people in the caravan, the faster the road's construction)
(Tip: Muffalos (or vehicles, if you have the mod), help a lot for constructing longer roads that need more resources.

Available Road Recipes
  • Dirt - Fastest construction time. No resources required. +30% speed boost.
  • Stone - Decent construction time. 150 stony materials required. +55% speed boost.
  • Asphalt - Slow construction time. 250 stony materials and 30 chemfuel required. +60% speed boost.
  • Asphalt Highway - Slowest construction time. 450 materials and 60 chemfuel required. +65% speed boost.

I don't think the percentages are good. If I build two road ten tiles, a stone road and an asphalt one, it would cost 1500 vs 4500 stone + Chemfuel (Whatever, I have Rimefeller), whereas the speed difference is 55% vs 65%, with a variant between the two and a free variant for a 30% reduction. In this case, its like asking for 3x the resources and more time for a reward worth 1.2x more more per tile. I realize that the difference is substantial, just pointing out that it is not at all cost effective. If you consider the time for construction to be 3x as well, it's a 9x total cost (Not considering other resources) vs 1.2x benefit. Seems kinda low, y'know? Sorry for the rant, I realize this mod is old and will not update.

It's cost per tile, yeah
Bio[redacted] 17 Feb, 2019 @ 11:09am
so it costs 150 in total to build a road or does it cost 150 per tile covered (e.g 150 x 10 tiles=1500)? cause if it only costs 150 thats kind of OP
