How to Cut the Left Column of Emoticon Art
By gawrone
This guide will help you crop your emoticon art beyond the possibilities of Mosaticon.

Introduction
Have you ever made a nice emoticon art, but realised it is not symmetrical, or the character count is too high, and the only way to fix it would be deleting the left column? If it happens to be the right column, or the lowest row it would be no problem. Mosaticon provides such function. If it would be upper row you can always delete it in notepad. But deleting first column is always problematic. In notepad you would have to delete every first emoticon code in each row. Easy when your mosaic has 3 rows, but when it has 33 it would be quite a chore.

Fear no more. With my method you can do that with few clicks, and save some time.
Step 1 - Select
As the example for this guide I was jauntily making this halloween pumpkin, and at some point realised it is not centered...oops.

The mosaic is 13 emoticons high and emoticons used have one letter names only, so erasing one emoticon in each row by hand would not be very time consuming, but why do it, when I can make it much faster.

What You need to do is to find an emoticon that was not used anywhere in the mosaic, and paint with it the entire column you wish to delete. I have used only two emoticons, but even when you have a much more complicated mosaic, in mosatison it is easy to find out which ones haven't been used not even once. I chosed bright blue to be sure.

With this method you can select as many columns as you need, you can also use it to delete rows, like the upper one, or even cut out a row or a column from inside, and do it all at the same time. You just need to be sure, that you are selecting entire columns or rows from the beginning to the end of them, leaving the same amount of rows and columns or, in other words, same number of emoticons vertically and horizontally in the entire mosaic. Otherwise it will all colapse and you would not be able to import it back again into the Mosaticon.
Step 2 - Delete
Now export and copy the code into the clipboard and go to this link: http://www.unit-conversion.info/texttools/replace-text/ (you could do it in any text editor, that have a function of finding and replacing a set of characters even inside words, but this online tool is quick and easy to open in another tab, while working in mosaticon).

Paste your code into the upper window marked as "Input data".

In the upper small bar marked as "Find text" type the name of your "selecting" emoticon including colons (in my case it was :X:).

Now go to the lower bar marked as "Replace with" and...leave it empty, just not even a single space.

And voila! In the lowest window marked as "Output" you will have the code of your mosaic without the selected column, or anything selected if you used it for more complicated operation.

Now select all the code in that window, copy it and import into mosaticon, if you want to continue working on it, or use it on Steam if it is already done.
Final Words
I hope this guide will help you in some cases, and will make it much easier to flood Steam comment sections and profile showcases with nice emoticon mosaics. If you think this guide could be improved or found any typos, please let me know in the comments.

Have fun while cutting away emoticons.
