Main
Dawn of War 3 is currently incomplete. There are only 3 races available, Orks, Eldar and Space Marines. At this point of time, it seems that SEGA and Relic decided to rush out a half-finished game instead of completing it.

Gameplay-wise, it's like an incomplete DOW. The right clicking is very bad without line of sight.

Conclusion, it's not ready yet. With only 3 races, the game is not ready to go. This review is greatly shortened as the list below is easier to read.

PROS
PROS
1. Warhammer Sauce
That's what everyone is downloading this game for, right?

2. Scrap Mechanic for the Orks & Scrap Resource
Easy to do and intuitive. Just click on the scrap and your Ork will upgrade himself. If he's maxed out, he won't take the scrap. Also, you can heal the Ork with the scrap if you have the correct Doctrine. Scrap is a simple resource to understand, much better than "Recquisition" and "Energy".

3. Daemon Prince Last Stand
It's like Last Stand mode in DOW 2, which is good. Keep it up.

4. Choice of Strategy in Campaign
I liked how you can choose your Doctrine and which Elites to bring with you on your campaign missions.
CONS
CONS
1. Incomplete Game
Where are the remaining races? Where are Chaos, Tau, Imperial, Tyranids, Necrons, Grey Knights and Sisters?

2. No Smooth Transition in Campaign
A lot of hiccups occur. Like forced auto-saving.

3. Bad Tutorial
There are many forced pauses, unclickable abilities, limited campaign map. It is run very slow and is a pain to slog through.

4. Unnecessary DOTA Multiplayer
This is totally unnecessary. If you wanted to bring DOTA into the game, you should have just set it as a mod, not part of the multiplayer mode. This is a real-time strategy game.

5. Poor Right Clicking GUI
Right Clicking is extremely unintuitive. Right click move is not an auto attack move, it is a run. On the map, unclickable terrain screws up drop pods and attack move commands.

6. Online Presence Required
This results in multiple problems such as the Relic servers crashing. Once it crashes, the game hangs.

7. Healing and Reinforcement Auras
It is one of the dumbest method to have 2 separate systems to heal your units. Healing is only for Elites while Reinforcements are only for units. The range of the auras are also extremely close to the buildings.

8. Bugs
Came across a bug where the Space Marines Kill Team can't heal next to the building but Gabriel Angelos can.

9. Video RAM intensive
4GB of RAM requirement is constantly blared before the start of the game.

10. Stupid AI
After an attack, the AI will stop moving. If it gets shot after this, it won't retaliate, move or take cover. If you don't bother to move the AI, it will just slowly die.

11. Eldar Webway Gate Transport
Way too clunky for use. You have to build buildings, then assign tech up, then manually assign warp route, then teleport. Refer to SUGGESTIONS later on.

12. Flying vehicle/Skimmer Movement
Absolutely horrendous. Moving them back and forth is just horrible. They turn awkwardly and have difficulty with impassable terrain. Why not just lift off and fly? If necessary, put them permanently in flight mode.

13. Webway Gate Stealth Passive Gone
To remove the passive invisibility of the Webway Gates was quite silly. It forces the player to have the stealth Webway doctrine and have to actively cast Stealth.

14. Long Ability Windups
Why do so many abilities have such long windups? Gorgutz is a prime example. Ronahn's Q shot.

15. Active Abilities within Active Abilities
Gorgutz's spinning arm can be recasted while spinning to stun the ground and it is only usable while spinning. This creates additional clunkiness of the abilities.

16. No Impact
Despite making Company of Heroes, the tanks in DOW 3 feel kind of weak. They don't have the impact when they fire, unlike tanks in COH2.
NEUTRAL
NEUTRAL
1. Doctrines
In the old DOW, doctrines were techs that you could research or natural passives for the units. It's pretty neat to have techs that are already researched even before the game starts. However, it is pretty dumb to see units lose their natural passives.

2. Elites
Ok, it's nice but it would be better and easier to just focus on 1 Elite per player. That way, each player gets a play style they want. The negative about the Elites is the power balance. All the Giant/Titan-sized Elites are just way stronger than the human sized ones. While the big ones cost more, they don't figure into the idea of a Hero anymore. They are more like Super Weapons.

3. Power of the Waagh!
While having Waagh towers with speakers to hype up the Orks seem cool, I prefer the original notion of a massive horde that feeds on the power of the mass of nutty beliefs and bloodlust. The Waagh tower is good but it does not convey the message of a Waagh.
SUGGESTIONS
SUGGESTIONS
1. Scrolling out to a Strategic Layer
This is missing from a RTS game. It should be implemented.

2. Space Map
In DOW, you could zoom out to see the map of the planet. I would take it a step further and show the entire sector with all the different planets orbiting a star. Possibly, I would throw Acheron in for awesomeness.

3. Resource Points Skin
What is recquisition anyway? Where does it come from? A hole in the ground? Remember that a listening post is just a spy post. Use skins like Warp Crystals, Tech Priest Factories or Chaos Warp Shrines to highlight the resource generating theme of each race. E.g. The Warp Shrine gathers Recquisition by communing with the Chaos Gods.

4. Ork Waagh Gameplay Mechanic
It has to correlate with the size of your Ork army. If you max out the pop cap at 250, your Waagh power will max out. Infantry contribute more to the power of the Waagh than the machine units but machine units are stronger.

5. Eldar Webway Gate Teleportation
It would be far easier to create teleportation zones around Eldar buildings. Then you give Eldar units the ability to warp between teleport zones, if they are within one. Please don't do stupid things like loading up units into an imaginary zone then unloading them. Too many physical steps to click. Webway Gates will give the largest teleport zones of course and Eldar Stealth units will become visible while teleporting.
