The Basic Terms
Below are basic terms you should know to understand the lingo of the game: If I missed anything feel free to comment and I will add it in.

11/23/17 Edit
- Updated language for recent patch, added Inquisitor and Sorcerer abreviations

*General Terms*

Logs/Journal = Your journal entries. If someone asks for your logs, you should copy them from your journal and paste them in chat. *Hint* You should always keep a log of your actions during the night

Role/Class = Your class. If asked for your role, give your class (e.g. Alchemist/Sheriff/Court Wizard)

Neut = Neutral class. This includes the alchemist, mercenary, reaper, possessor, scorned, and fool. All of these classes are considered neutral classes. *Hint* the Blue Dragon often will execute neutral classes if they have no other leads. Check Cubes guide for tips playing a mercenary.

Reaper Check = A way of identifying if anyone has been reaped the previous night. If someone says reaper check, you should respond with the letter f to indicate that you have not been reaped. *Hint* When a person is reaped they are technically dead, though their body will remain and they will be unable to speak or do anything.

Exe = Execute

NK = Neutral Killer, refers to possessor, reaper, or sorcerer. Only one can be present in a game

BD = Blue Dragon. The 'good guys' who are trying to eliminate the unseen/cult

Acc = Accuse; to put a person on trial

NS = Not Suspicious/Suspect. Usually found in journal of sheriff/paladin

Sus = Suspect. That person might be unseen depending on who is accusing who. Obviously a sheriff saying someone is sus is far more influential than randy rando accusing everyone for giggles.

n1, n2, n3, etc... = Night 1, Night 2, Night 3, etc...Use this in your journal to identify for your readers what you did on a certain night. An example of a journal is below to aid you;

Randy Rando the Sheriff
n1 - Check 1, Not sus
n2 - Check 16, Unseen
n3 - Check 5, Not sus

Tips for Communicating Effectively
Below is an example of poor communication:

To help alleviate problems of communicating in-game, here is a list of things NOT to do

*Don'ts!*

1) DON'T use caps lock. It may make your text more visible, but consistantly using it is annoying. Image a child screaming; that's what everyone thinks when you use caps lock

2) DON'T accuse everyone who says you are wrong. This makes people less likely to believe you. Just because you have great evidence doesn't mean people will listen, so don't insist they are unseen just because they doubt you *Hint* HOWEVER this may tip you off to who is protecting whom. If you accuse 9 and 10 vouches for him, yet 9 turns up unseen this is good reason to believe 10 is sus himself.

3) DON'T lose your temper at teammates. People makes mistakes; Blue Dragons get executed all the time. Raging against them won't help, so instead try and give as much information as you can in your trial, and if you are executed wrongly try to take it well. Remember, everybody is suspect in this game, even you.

4) DON'T take poor notes in your journal. Neatly document your own actions during the night, and keep a list of people you suspect and people you don't. If you die that information might be vital for outing the unseen. Now if you ARE unseen then having a poor journal is ok. It is unexcusable to have a poor journal as a blue dragon however.

5) DON'T throw the game intentionally. Do not tell the blue dragon who your fellow cult members are, and do not reveal who your fellow blue dragon members are. Even if the game is lost it is against the rules to do this.

*Do's!*

1) DO keep a good journal! This point is so important I've made it twice. Having a poor journal is suspect

2) DO be patient. When you have vital information to convey, it may take a few tries to get it across. Remember, keep that caps lock off, and patiently remind everyone of the information you have. Write it in your journal as well. Whisper it to known allies. Basically be persistant, but not annoying.

3) DO read others' journals! They spent a lot of time keeping detailed information. Brush up on the class abilities of others, and use their journal to help you narrow down who may or may not be against you.

4) DO listen to others. They may have information you do not, and together you may just win the game. Talk to others, share information to known allies, and work together. At the very least, you know that the psychic and the prince are blue dragons and can be trusted. *Hint* The psychic can be converted however, so only share information while linked at night (an ability the converted psychic does not have)

5) DO keep your mouth in check. Swearing, while technically allowed, isn't good form and it tends to alienate you from the others. Even when your teammates mess up, or the enemy makes a bad move, it isn't OK to cuss them out. They are trying their best, and you were a newbie once as well. Communication is far more likely to be accepted when done respectfully and calmly.

6) DO have fun! Remember this is a game, and win or lose you can easily get back into another round.

Hope this guide was helpful for you! If you have any more questions feel free to comment and ask. Cheers!

Play your role what ever it is, and try and notice who seems to be pursueing what goal. If someone is neutral they just want to survive (unless they want everyone dead), if someone is bd they want to destroy the unseen, and if unseen they want to make everyone think they are bd or at least not evil. The more you play and the more familiar with classes you get the easier it will be. I'd suggest looking through classes one at a time while waiting for games to load, or in the spare time during nights and just brushing up on class abilities and goals. Hope this helps!

1) Keep track in your head or in your private notes of who claims what class. If 3 claims to be a Psychic on day 3, yet nobody is linked the following night, this is good reason to believe either he's lying or has been converted to the unseen. Only by knowing he claimed psyc can you understand the logic

2) Notice who accuses whom and why. If 3 accuses 6 for being unseen, yet 6 turns out to be a BD, then either 3 was lying or 3 was tricked by someone else into believing this. As games progress you may see a pattern form of a sheriff who consistantly outs unseen, yet seemingly stops after a certain point. This might indicate he's converted

3) Lastly, you don't need to follow every single comment. Most people are saying random junk, and the people that are saying real things will probably keep saying it.

Thats a good question. I'd suggest spending a little time in the classes page on the main menu just looking at each character's basic goals. For instance, the sheriff's goal is to expose the unseen, while the fool's goal is to convince others he is unseen somehow and get them to execute him during the day. Knowing this, you will begin to see how people are trying to get after those goals in different ways. If someone CLAIMS to be the sheriff yet provides bad information chances are that it is someone else trying to pretend to be sheriff. This could be a fool trying to get executed, or it could be a mastermind trying to escape suspicion.

Generally speaking, this still flows into the unseens goal of defeating everyone since if he sucessfully convinces everyone he will work unseen (heh thats a pun).

As for keeping track of whats going on, I'd suggest focusing on three things and ignoring most else
