More Upkeep: 40% per Unit plus 10% per Lord - Radious, Mortal Empires/Vortex Compatible

Description
This mod increases the upkeep for all units by 40% above base cost for the player and 30% for AI. (AI is charged a little less upkeep, see below for why) Also, both player and AI have unit upkeep increased by 10% per additional Lord/Army. This mod basically makes all units cost a little more which addresses the cheap units and army spam in Radious mid-late games.

The Vanilla values for additional upkeep per Lord/Army for Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Legendary are 1%, 2%, 7%, 15%, and 15%.

*This mod increases upkeep 10% per Lord/Army regardless of diffculty.

*Adds 40% to the basic upkeep of all player units. Each new army after the first gets a 10% additional cost on top and so on.

*Due to the AI spamming more lords and running around without full strength stacks, I've reduced their additional upkeep per unit to 30% giving the AI a slight advantage to offset their playstyle.

You can view these costs by hovering over the 'Supply Lines' icon at the top of your campaign screen. This show the number of armies, percentage increase for Army Upkeep and Additional Upkeep total. Be sure to recruit units and look at the Unit Card's upkeep cost to see the true adjusted value and open the Building Browser and mouse over unit descriptions to compare to the base cost of a unit.

Radious Mod unit costs are pretty low. Some of the few things I dislike about using Radious is that it allows you to field multitudes of army stacks all with elite troops. Battles tend to be multi-army affairs with 3+ stacks facing off and battles take forever. Losing an Army isn't too difficult to replace either which gives little consequence to the outcome of battles. But not anymore! With this mod installed all your armies will cost more and losing a battle will probably hurt you right in the 'feels'. You won't be able to afford tons of armies with all those top-tier elite shiny troops, and you'll wince when you have to pad your army out with a few low level units.

The overall balance achieved with this mod means the additional upkeep is not too noticeable in the early game, but as your armies grow and you unlock more expensive troops, you'll be thinking twice before you decide to add yet another Lord to your forces.

BALANCE ISSUES

Obviously campaign balance will be changed as units do not have the same costs anymore. Units will all cost a little more. The more Lords you have, the more your units upkeep is. This will change your game in the sense that you will no longer be able to field multitudes of armies consisting of elite troop units without having to worry about your overhead costs. Your fun may vary.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is designed to work as a standalone mod that changes unit costs across the board for both the AI and the player. It will probably not work with any other mod that does the same. This mod was designed to work with Radious Total War Mod but can be used alone if desired. This mod is not recommended for Steel Faith Overhaul because SFO already has expensive units and this mod would make them more so. This mod is likely save game compatible.

Please make sure that you have tested the mod only with the necessary mods before announcing a bug. Mod conflicts can arise from a single mod to having combinations of mods that disagree, think Batman 1989. Other than that, I will try as hard as I can to fix the problems.

@Pita Bread Sorry this is so late in coming, but I updated this mod using a readme file adding today's date as an addendum. Nothing was changed. It worked back in 2017 exactly how it still works today. So whatever you guys were doing, it wasn't this mod.

I tried creating a new coop campaign with this mod since Prophet & Warlock patch and can't seem to get game going. Says incompatible with other player. We are both running same mods and deleted all other mods until we found the culprit. :/

Isnt there a way to also nerf TK so to maintain parity? I havent looked at the mechanics of TK yet, so I dont know how they afford anything, but I'm sure somehow it could be altered as a companion mod.

Ana, TK needs to be nerfed for this mod to be balanced for Mortal Empires. It seems like Radious team is looking into a fix for their generic 40% increased upkeep mod, but still waiting. Let me know if you plan to incorporate a TK nerf or not. Thanks!
