Acela Express Sounds

Description
Adds a K5LA hybrid and a speed-dependent bell to the Acela. Also fixes the rear powercar having its doppler effect reversed, though the fix does not affect existing trainsets.

I probably won't, to be honest. I have other commitments at the moment.

I concur with your comment! I was thinkin the same thing.
When I get some time, maybe I'll have a play with the mdl files and see what I can break :steammocking:
Unless you plan on re-doing all the MU sounds lol.

It is, indeed, fairly easy. imo they should do this approach with applicable multiple units, or fix the sound issue somehow. Although with this approach, you can set the end unit, like with the TGV, to not have crew models, headlights and horn sound, thus increasing realism a smidgen.

Even though I've never really done anything like that before, it sounds relatively easy. Why can't the devs do this? Lol. Sounds like it would take just a couple hours!

For whatever reason, reversing a vehicle within the multiple unit script also reverses the doppler effect. I explained somewhat in an eariler comment, but I made a duplicate Acela mdl file as a reversed variant. Within the mdl file, you can alter how meshes appear, such as the body, so I essentially reversed the body mesh and removed the headlights and crew. I had to move the body slightly, as well, to match the truck positions, since reversing the body meshes doesn't give perfect positioning. So then with the Acela multiple unit config file, I replaced the end unit with the new reversed variant. Since the locomotive appears reversed already, it does not need to be reversed in the multiple unit config file. The result is a normal doppler effect. Sorry that was a lot lol.

To summarize:
Make a copy of the mdl file and reverse the body mesh. Reposition it accordingly.
Change the MU config file so that it uses the new, reversed mdl file, and change the reverse flag to false instead of true.

I'm just curious of how you were able to reverse the dopplar effect. Because I'd like to do it to the rest of the multiple units lol. Unless you feel up to the challenge...

Bell sound is for station not for train...

I'm sorry, I can't understand your problem.
