1: Find Affliction in your Steam Library and right-click on it. Click on properties.

2: Click on the Local Files tab and then click the button that says Browse Local Files.

3: Once you're in the game's install directory, double-click on the Files folder.

4: Find the folder named effectbank, double-click on it.

5: Find the folder named reloaded, double-click on it.

6: Find the file named settings(.fx), double-click on it to open it.

7: Find the line that says: "#define CARTOON // PE: enable / disable cartoon (cel) shader." - Make it look like this: "//#define CARTOON // PE: enable / disable cartoon (cel) shader.".

8: You have now stopped the game from rendering the Cell Shader Effect and learned how to comment out something in lua scripting language.

If you want to do this for the tutorial too, follow the same steps above, but do so in the AfflictionBase folder.
