Main
HELLDIVERS is an isometric shooter. Think of Alien Swarm on a more zoomed out level and you'll have HELLDIVERS. It's a game where the objective is to land on planets, complete objectives and then extract. It's a repetitive process with very little to offer. I played till level 10 to see if anything interesting opened up but it was just another grindfest.

Gameplay-wise, it's very simple. WASD keys, Spacebar and the mouse clicks. It's going to be a major grindfest trying to level up to unlock the Weapons, Perks and Strategems but if you love the repetitiveness, this is the game for you. It's not for me.

Conclusion, there isn't enough content to justify playing HELLDIVERS for long. It's a great idea to try but you'll find that Alien Swarm would give you far greater content than this game. I would rather play Alien Swarm since it's free while this is paid material and grindy.

PROS
PROS
1. Cool Name
HELLDIVERS sells well.

2. Simple to Pickup and Play
Move with WASD keys, Prone with Spacebar, shoot and aim with the left and right mouse buttons.

3. The Toys
You have a mech, vehicles and a lot of different weapons. Sadly, the weapons function the same, it's only whether they fire bullets, lasers or plasma. No fancy ♥♥♥♥ like hyper-laser beams that can destroy landmarks.

CONS
CONS
1. Repetitive Gameplay
There is no real change from 1 stage to another. You just land, go to point A, press arrow combos there, then move onto point B and press arrow combos there. There are a few variations like defusing mines and nuking locations but those don't really vary much.

2. Nothing to Explore
Your base is just the bridge of one starship and you can't really do anything much. All you can do is upgrade weapons, Strategems and Perks at the Armoury, Choose your missions (Single or Multi) and Launch. The Encyclopedia is pretty dull.

3. Lack of Content
4 stages per planet for a total of 12 stages. There are supposedly 3 planets that you have to fight on but the only difference is the terrain and type of units spawned. While it sounds like a lot, most of them look the same and play out similarly.

4. No Special Unit Classes
Every single one of you is just a generic soldier with perks. There is no Sniper class, Officer class, Heavy Weapons class, Scout class, Spy class, Medic class, etc.

5. No Story Campaign
You would expect that game companies would use a story campaign so that the game "sticks" with their audience but no. HELLDIVERS is another one of those generics with no characters.

SUGGESTIONS
SUGGESTIONS
1. Work with Alien Swarm
You have a similar concept to Alien Swarm but you are missing engaging stages. You have more tech toys, aliens and a perk system. HELLDIVERS might be able to continue Alien Swarm. Work together and I'm very certain you could create a wondrous series. If you build another 20 levels of Alien Swarm, I'm certain you can gather a following.
